    Default Kingdoms Installation Issues

Awhile ago I lost the main Medieval 2 disk, from the Gold set, the disk that installs the main game and is needed to launch the game. I wasn't able to find it but I was able to pick up regular Medieval 2 for $4, including shipping and handling. I then installed it just fine and downloaded the 1.2 patch, and installed it. I then tried installing Kingdoms using disk 2 of the Gold set, which I still have, but it isn't working properly. I had to install each campaign individually, the 1.5 patch failed to install properly, and the campaigns ask for the original disk whenever I try to run the expansions. Is there anyway to get Kingdoms to work properly?

Edit: I cant install the 1.3 patch either.

Patch 1.2 messes up everything, it's a flop. Uninstall, restart machine, re-install main game.
Patch 1.3 gets installed when you install the first kingdoms campaign.
The only patch you need to download and install is 1.5

A note of interest: if you have the installation code\serial number then you can always download M2TW from Steam - you get the kingdoms campaigns at no extra cost (free DLC).

Yeah 1.2 is what's probably causing issue. I had to install on Steam with the box CD key, no issues

From the disk it keeps saying I need to install the 1.3 patch to install the Kingdoms campaigns, and the 1.3 patch needs the 1.2 patch. I'm not getting the normal menu that I should get when I put the Kingdoms disk in. It seems the Gold edition disks only work with the other Gold disks.

How would I install it on steam? It seems that that is the only way left.

I am not sure which version you are running, but the 1.3 patch should not ask for patch 1.2 to be pre-installed.

To download via steam you (obviously) will require to have a steam account. After that you go into games\activate a game on steam
At the third small window (after info agreement) and you can then enter the install code of your retail version. Once the main version is installed you can then add the free DLC of the kingdom campaigns.
When playing mods please note that you will have to make sure that the BAT file refers to the medieval2.exe and NOT the kingdoms.exe (edit BAT file by right clicking and choosing 'edit')
