Default The game doesn't reconize when you beat all other factions...

... it just goes on. Another normal turn. I hoped for pop up, a message, something. So, I tell myself, maybe there is something broken, due to the patches. The familytree for example was pretty bugged, because of the patches. Anybody who can confirm this or had other experiences?

I mean, it was still satisfying, I'm happy but... you know? That empty little spot of your inner childs ego. For the first time ever, I have the urge to resettle certain regions and build the stuff I have to, to get CA to pat my head via victory condition. C'mon, it was a efing hard campaign! I deserve my "you-have-the-greatest-virtual-shlong-ever-dude-message"...

Ok, somebody tell me it's a bug, it is, isn't it?!

Actually, TW games in the past have never had a victory screen associated with defeating all factions. However, the older TW games did have a victory screen for conquering the entire map, but that involves not only defeating the other factions, but owning every settlement in the game.

I wouldn't expect there to be any victory screens other than those for the official victory conditions.

Total War: Resettle it is then... thx Aeratus! Hopefully owning via resettle will be enough...

This was wise, Aeratus. Indeed nothing happend, except ofc when I reached the victory conditions.

Beat all the other factions= nothing
Minor Victory = pop up and Records tab open (thats a while ago, so i might be wrong here)
Cultural Victory= pop up and Records tab open
Military Victory= cinematic, pop up and Records tab open
Divine Triumph= pop up and Records tab open
Own every settlement on the map= nothing

In Rome2 there was something, conquered the map as Rome, it was either when you beat all the factions or own all settlements... can't remember, plus it might had happend at the same time. Or was that part of the victory conditions in Rome2? Somebody?

Rome 2 has a cinematics and a victory tab when you reach any of the three victory conditions (military, economic or cultural). Military victory is you and your allies owning about 2/3 of the map, I never got any further than that.

While owning every settlement and defeating every faction certainly deserves some sort of Steam achievement if nothing else, the real thing that is an issue is that they did away with any type of cinematics for most victory types (as Turumba shows above).

Really, while maybe only 0.02% of people will ever defeat every single faction (kudos, by the way, for actually accomplishing that OP!), the bigger deal is the lack of much of anything for minor victories. My assumption is that a large % of players will only play for the minor victory, so there really should be a cutscene for minor victories given that that is all the further many campaigns will go.

But, in the long run, I guess it's better that they put their attention and focus elsewhere... I can live without cutscenes if the work-hours went toward improving the campaign, as may have been the case.

Still, though, it probably wouldn't have taken much effort at all to at least program a few extra Steam achievements for the higher level (military, cultural, divine) victories, as well as a couple of achievements for beating all factions, owning all settlements, or building one each of every unit across all playthroughs. The golden era of Steam achievements for strategy games seems to have been around Civ 5 through to Company of Heroes 2... both those games had loads of achievements. Since 2013, though, it really feels like Steam achievements have tapered off... R2 and Attila both have had far fewer achievements, and even Civ:BE had a really small number.

This could be, I reached the military one first.

    And this would explain why.

For a part of second there was a blackscreen, I thought a cinamatic would start and I skipped it accidently via mouseclick, but you can't skip a cinematic with a mouseclick.

Thanks +rep for the feedback, guys!

@Sagat: Meh, I mean one is really in a hurry on the last miles... One dont have to be in a hurry, but your administration skills shrink tremendously, well mine did for sure. While I'm asking for a head pad, I surely dont want a pop up, with a note: "You suck, dude. You quonqered all and everything, but you sucked in the long run."

Please report that as a bug in the official forum.

Cultural victories have a cinematic also. There's actually a ten second clip played at the end which I believe delineates which you received first, cultural or military. For the Ostrogoths it's a sacred grove. I'd expect some marching barbarians for military.

I think the cinematic for cultural victory is the same as the one you get for military victory.

speaking of this topic I been thinking about this a long time, and I was actually going to start a thread to see if anyone can make a mod or something for my idea, I doubt it though..
But I think it would be really cool if they incorporated a lifespan of your Empire once you've finished your main victory conditions. So your goal would not only be to finish the victory conditions, but I think more interestingly to see how well you played your cards because you would want your Empire to last as long as possible, could be a friendly competition among friends and forum goers.

Basically works like this, some sort of algorithm in the game exists to estimate for how long your Empire would last after you finish the game and it's victory conditions. It takes into account how you played the game of course, if you were smart then your Empire would last for hundreds of years, if you were dumb, then few dozen years, and so on and so forth...

For example, if you built a good foundation to your Empire then it would last let's say 500 years after you, and a message would say something along the lines of
"Your Empire lasted until 1100ad, brought to it's end by the Mongol hordes in 1102ad"

But if you went out played your campaign like a madman and just razed every city, etc.... obviously you'd have a short lived Empire so it would say something like "Mi lord your Empire crumbled in 550ad due to mass starvation"
