    Default Quiz time: II

My attempt to understand electronics: II

I wonder, if this is simply a problem with my Ipod, rather than the computer.

You see, my Ipod Nano would always be recognized when plugged into the computer by means of USB. When plugged in, Itunes opens (if not already) and the Ipod is recognized. This is naturally supposed to happen.

Recently, however, when I plug my Ipod in, it is not recognized by Itunes, simply, just by the PC.

I have tried deleting the program from the computer and restalling it many times, and I have tried the same not just on this PC, but on a laptop and a MAC as well.

I do not beleive I can get music on to the Ipod at this stage...and I cannot imagine why Itunes is being mental.

Is this a problem that I can fix?

    Danke.

Does it still show up as a device when you're actually in iTunes? If so, then the most obvious thing i guess would be to have a look at the iTunes properties and make sure the iPod is set to cause iTunes to load when connected (cant exactly remember where to check, you probably need the iPod connected to see the options - my own own is on charge just now so isn't showing up.. pfft)

    EDIT:

bah didn't read properly. If it isn't working on any computer maybe youre best to restore the iPod to its default settings, again i cant remember where this option is in iTunes (use media player these days) but it will erase all your songs and reset all its settings.. thats about all i can think of

So you restore your Ipod through Itunes? If that's the case, can I still do this even if Itunes will not show that a device is connected? If the Ipod is not recognized, I don't beleive I can format it through Itunes.

Try going into file, then down to sync iPod. That might get it to recognize that you are trying to connect to your device and possibly tell you in more detail what it isn't recognizing.

I see 'sync' Ipod, but it is not clickable. As in...not available...light grey text...yeah, you know what I mean haha. I suppose that is because Itunes does not think there is an Ipod hooked up to the system.
