Didnt Kenya invaded Somalia in 2011 to fight terrorists? How can it be that terrorist attacks have spiked inside Kenya since then?

In b4 somebody blames this on the West. Oh wait, we've already got someone blaming the victims here...
And yet another brilliant, witty, appropriate comment from you on the topic of Islamist terror. Do keep it up.
Also, I hope that the masterminds of this attack, and everyone who funds them, suffer a slow and very painful death.

Yeah like the fact that Kenya is an occupation force in Somalia has nothing to do with this. Fact is that US persuaded Kenya to invade Somalia in 2011, supposingly to protect kenya from terrorism. The result, as someone can clearly see, is exactly the opposite(more terrorism inside Kenya). But since Kenyan generals are funded by US i suppose it doesnt matter
The only way to stop terrorist attacks by Al-Shabaab is for Al-Shabaab and whoever aids them to be destroyed. Both the U.S. and Kenya are on the right track, they just need to maintain solidarity and continue their efforts. This attack is a sign of desperation, nothing more.
I really hope, Papay, hellheaven, that you're not trying to make light of the fact that 170 people, and climbing, are dead. I really, really, really hope that.

these mouthbreathers actually let some of the muslim students go, after firing indiscriminately into the crowd. i wonder how many of the dead/injured are muslims. even when terrorists are attempting to act in the tiniest logical of ways and have some sort of rule of engagement of who they are going to kill and who they aren't, they make a mess of it anyway and then quickly try to make it look like they are willing to spare someone. true mental retardation here, i sometimes wonder how they are even able to hold a rifle straight or walk straight. if you're suicidal why not just kill yourself silently instead of getting out of bed for this?
According to Reuters it's not just 70 anymore, the death toll has risen to at least 147.![]()
Only way to deal with something like this is through a mind boggling amount of intelligence gathering, and liberal application of lethal force.
Or you could try to sell some of that nonsense about solving the underlying cause of the problem as a first priority like the bleeding hearts like to do, though in practice that usually takes decades if it can be done at all, and progress can only be made during times of peace anyway, meaning you'll need to have to have a crackdown first regardless.
I know that if something like this happened in my country, we'd have gone into carthago delenda est mode by now. I hope the Kenyans have the resources to do the same; their best way of stopping this from happening in the future and to restore some sense of safety to their nation is to come as near as humanly possible to wiping As Shabaab off the face of the earth, in public and brutal fashion.

If it were my country, I might have. I served in the military where I lived, partially because I was conscripted, but also partially to do my part that these sort of thing didn't happen.
As for beheadings, I dare say that's quite a primitive way of going about killing people. We mostly use drones where I live; I wouldn't say they're any more civilized, but they are a lot more practical. The sheer fact the organization was near wiped out is where the intimidation value is, not in theatrics of going about it. The important thing is they're neutralized at the end of the day, though chances are the most pragmatic ways of doing it are quite brutal (though not cruel for their own sake), as war often is.
