    Default War Targets?

In R2 I was very positive towards the War Target-system, as it was a delight to see your allies/vassals march across your empire to hit at the enemy target you appointed; hohoho

In Attila (no mods) currently I appoint war targets and I don't find my AI allies/vassals react what so ever, be the target an army, settlement or horde, even when they have large idle armies in close proximity to the target.
Are war targets in Attila broken?

I am in agreement. I had pretty much the entire modern day EU under my thumb as the WRE with 10 + allies at my disposal who were fighting the huns with me. then suddenly the Sassinid empire declares war on the ERE and of course I join it to back them up. I make Ctesiphon the war target. Absolutely no one joins it, not even the ERE. It must be currently broken.

Yeah, this function is not working correctly.
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.

I encountered this alot, but it usually works with certain factions and blatantly doesnt work with others, mainly migrating hordes.

One thing I noticed was that when the faction was

"Reliable, Defensive" it followed my order 99% of the time, while anything else the dude literally just sat there doing NOTHING for 30 turns. Other personalities would attack but would refuse to actually attack a settlement unless I brought 2-3 units to reinforce (units, not armies).

I have had similar results myself.
I wish that, if it truly is based on a factions Kings traits, that it would be explained more. Like if you place a war target on Edessa and the Armenians are your allies and do not march on it you get a message "The Armenians are hesitant to throw away their troops at such overwhelming odds." or something along those lines. Because then I'd get it. I wouldnt be so frustrated.

Concur on that, then it would be part of the politics and strategy, now, as noted, it just seems broken and annoying.

Edit: but still vasalls ignorance should (in a logical game) be lesser than allies ignorance, as pressure to perform simply should be greater

It's either broken or not explained well enough. It only worked one time for me in Attila so far. It needs to be expanded upon too. We should be able to give as many war targets as we want to each individual ally.

I've had some decent success with the last few games using war targets. I actually had to rush to confederate quick so they wouldn't take the city I wanted :p

In my campaign with the Visigoths I often used war targets, and most of my allies reacted to it, but I never choose a far away city, for example: the german tribes attacked and captured italian war targets, what was close to them, so that may be a factor.

I think the most I got was playing as the ERE, I set a war target in Italy on the visigoths. My puppet states were alllll of the East, Sassanids asked for it and in turn I inherited all of their puppets. Now about 30 turns later I start to see a slow migration of a large number of Eastern armies, crossing through Turkey and into Illyria. I captured the city...many turns ago and the war target was disabled mind you. Now there are just a bunch of random eastern armies roaming Gaul and Germania. Not really doing much, occasionally reinforcing one of my cities or a city I am attacking (by complete random roll of the dice I would assume.)
So yeah, I'd say the mechanic is broken, or at the very least highly delayed.
