Default there was a WRE buff?

i started new campaign after the last patch and on every campaign wre was wiped out by 400 (some cases, they held 1 region or 2 at best) and this pattern was more or less the same on each campaign i played, now on my current campaign they are still strong and only lost britannia....... wich makes me wonder, have WRE been buffed up on this last patch or its just mere luck????

Their morale is rated as poor now (I play WRE) and I don't remember that before the patch, so probably.

Well, how the poor morale could help them survive?

Whoops, I read it the wrong way down. If they've been improved, I certainly haven't noticed it. But it's good that the AI WRE survives a little longer, to reflect the fact that in history it didn't just collapse immediately under Honorius, it was a century of decline to the final fall in 476.

I play the ERE and I think the WRE has indeed been improved, just by the fact that they`re holding onto their areas really well and haven`t been in any serious trouble at all unlike before. They also offered me a bigger cash incentive to attack one of their enemies than in the previous game.

if the morale is poor, than why they are holding better than before? O.o

or maybe is the fact that barbarian factions aren't rushing alltogether all at once through wre, instead i see them focus on either consolidate and expand within germanic territories or picking on the british isles....... honestly whatever is the reason i'm glad wre still strong

And what about the razing guys? Is there less razing, because in my current Vandal campaign, (about 40 turns in) there is so much razing that I am thinking about starting new campaign!
Is this worth it or should I continue my current one?

You should start a new one, I haven't seen much razing at all in my campaign. Although by 406 AD the Romans are pretty much reduced to Italia and (maybe? haven't seen that far) Africa in mine. I think so far I have only seen one desolate region, and that was in Illyria, right in the middle of the conflict.

I'm only 8 or 9 turns into my new post-patch campaign (ERE), so can't speak authoritatively. I offer this though: Those pesky Visigoths in the Balkans successfully attacked 3 minor settlements before I was able to chase them down. Of those 3, they sacked 2 and razed 1. Based on what I saw during first couple of campaigns, I would've expected pre-patch that they would've razed at least two, maybe all three towns. Extremely small sample size, but it does appear that CA has indeed toned down the "raze craze", at least for non-Hunnic factions in early game.

Well what difficulty are you guys playing at? VH or normal?

I'm guessing on VH due to cash bonuses the AI has more to throw around and resettle and occupy rather than raze?

But yeah patch did say that AI is less likely to raze in the first 100 turns.

theres a mod that only allows the huns to use the raze ability, it helps alot to have a best experience instead of having "Attila: fallout 3" xD

i do understand the raze mechanic and its good, but CA made such ability so much "vulgar" instead of pretended effect of being "last resort" , even with the mod i mentioned above, that only prevents you from raze enemy factions settlemente or vice-versa but doesn't stop the raze effect from start migration, on my current campaign the geats migrated for non apparent reason to northern spain...... they had no threat, had quite developed settlement......
