After a battle, the you only get to see losses and deaths... no actual kill count.
What's up with that? There's literally NO reason to not include it. Is CA out of their mind?

Completely Bonkers!!
There is a kill count, actually.
The kill count is shown after battle, during the losses and deaths screen. The number by the skull is the kill count.
You can also view the kill count on the left-side panel during the battle.
The skulls only tell you the amount of kills each unit got. I want to know the total number as well, and I'd rather not spend time adding up all the skulls.
Wait, they removed the total kill count? what the hell for? Isn't this one of those staple needs at the end of a battle? How many did I kill? How many of mine did they kill? It's like the FIRST thing I look for.
How can you release so many games and not have a sense of evolution from title to title. I *get* the removal of the family tree on Rome 2 - I didn't like it, but I _get_ it - but to remove simple interface things like this seems bizarre.
It's to hide the fact that 90% of the kills in siege battles are due to towers![]()
The towers are genuinely out of control, they need to be toned down hugely. I attacked a Greuthungian encampment and here's the battle screen:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I added up those enemy kills. They come to 189. I lost 745 men! That's a disparity of 556 kills. Presuming a handful of my losses are friendly fire (which I take pains to keep to a minimum) at least 500 of my troops were killed by enemy tower fire. This despite me rushing to take the towers ASAP after getting into the camp. That's insane, and the lack of kill count barely conceals how absurdly OP the towers are.

You know what's worse? When you are about to capture a tower or gate and some of your men are too near or coming down from the wall, you capture and BOOOOM there goes half of your men because the towers just exploded. Another one of CA common sense moments.
Back to OP. It's frustrating that the most basic and interesting stat, the kill count, isn't plainly displayed. What is theing problem??!?! Just show the results...
KK MEEEE!
Also you can only see one army on the screen. So you really never know how the other reinforcing army performed. Which leads to cases where you get the stats of your two garrison ships and not your two thousand strong garrison force.
If skull counting is too arduous a task, try looking at the post battle panel, which shows, underneath the result, Deployed, Lost, Remaining, Captured figures for both sides
That isn't as useful though.
In Medieval 2, I often found it highly useful to compare my losses to the amount of men the enemy killed, to judge how much friendly fire my tactics were causing, and then adjust accordingly.
Now, I have no idea how many of my losses are due to friendly fire, and how many are actually due to the enemy.

The other issue is when playing multiplayer battles you don't know how many you or your team mates killed when looking at the replay. Another two steps forward and one back for CA.
3K needs to have an Avatar Campaign!!!
After a multiplayer battle, I want to see how many kills I, my teammates, and my enemies got. That's just common sense. Which CA apparently lacks.
Ah CA Stirkes again with it's pointless removal of useful and most basic features.
Everytimes it happens I wonder : who are the guys who dev the last titles, were they already there in the development of previous titles, did they ever played this game before ?
Thre's such a strong will to change features which were working all right instead of enhancing them that I sometimes wonder if there's at least a bit of love and interest for what TW games used to be in the new titles dev teams.
Those short vision changings are what will kill the game in the long run. It started in R2 with "hey, let's make the game more arcadish for multiplayer oriented public and kids" to "hey, survival games are working so well, let's make a survival strategy game out of Attila". Mixed up with "hey, the older fans love paradox games, so let's add some paradox-like quick features to the family tree".
Ok, CA, but where's your own personal vision in all that ? Answer : there are to many things to read, let's remove the kill count lol
