Iuvavoaeta and the death of the Romans

Hello everyone!

Has anybody noticed that Iuvavoaeta is usually the death of the Romans?
At least in most of my campaigns as soon as they conquer that town they become practically inactive and the only thing they do is reinforce that region.
They stop defending their other provinces and they mainly neglect Italy.
It almost looks like they take on the roving defender AI.
Any insight would be welcome.

I think it depends on what kind of situation is around them. 95% Romans always expand eastwards in my campaign and they sometimes don't even take cities in alps and just stomp epirus/dacians.

Sometimes, however they go fully against aedui (as arverni almost always loses) and they pretty much take whole gaul/germania. If aedui/sweboz are strong in your campaign or even arverni they will just enter tortoise mode like that.

Really? Wow I'd like to see that, they always focus on rebel settlements and theres always 3 rebel settlements in illyria
