Default Strange - Attila one of the Best TW Games but I'm not intrested in buying DLCs

Not sure If I'm the only one.
For Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2 and Rome 2 I was buying most of Unit Packs and Factions and Add-Ons etc.

But with Attila It feels like wtf
If the Vikings wouldn't have been included for Pre Ordering I wouldn't have spend any € on it.
German add on... hm I already got 2 German factions.
Celt okay sounds really interesting but why are all these special buildings and general story sound intresting but why is this not avialable for Germans or Vikings?

And considering that they want 8€ per DLC... its just

The Vikings are worthless in my opinion. The worst of all DLCs for Attila so far and really with nothing new to offer.

I have to say that the Longbeards DLC and Celts DLC are made with alot of love for detail and with nice new features, buildings and units. The way these two culture pack DLCs were made is not just a hundredfold better to how faction DLC were made for Rome 2. No, I would argue that the faction DLCs for Attila are even better than the faction DLCs made for Shogun 2. The Hattori, Ikko Ikki and Ottomo clan packs never offerd as many new units, buildings and other additions as the Longbeards and Celts DLCs.

So if you were to ask me, I would say that Longbeards and Celts are worth the money. Vikings is just not worth it.

Well I would compare Attila and Shogun 2 here: IMO the variety of the starting factions is enough to keep me playing without actually needing to buy others. Vikings are available as Saxons, Germanic kingdoms as Franks, both Roman empires, Eastern faction and Huns. You already cover most of your basis without to much to desire.

That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

Have you had your daily dose of fear yet? craziii

Completed a Saxon campaign, currently playing Geats. And yep, it's almost identical. A few subtle & minor differences, but overwhelmingly the same. Not just the faction, but how it's playing out due to geography as well. And obviously Jutes/Danes would be even more similar. So yeah, the pre-Vikings feel rather like cut-and-paste versions of what's already available with Saxons.

That said, I'm not too upset about it. The pre-Vikings were essentially a bribe to pre-order. So while it wasn't totally "free", as one did have to commit to the game before release, but at least it didn't necessarily have to cost actual money. Of course, that doesn't apply to folks who did buy after release, and would now have to pay for the Geats/Danes/Jutes. In that context, I totally agree that the Viking Forefathers DLC is not worth it.

Haven't sprung for either Longbeards or Celts, but from what I've read from others, I do have the impression that CA did a nice job differentiating those factions. Folks generally seem to be happy with those.

Same thought here... but thats probably down to the fact that I am not really interested in playing "barbarian" factions
