    Default The Free LC thing.

Until today the patch planned for tomorrow was called a "Update" by CA.

And now it suddently is a "Free LC".

It is common for many companies who have financial problems or who realised that they have sold a faulty product, that is infirior to the competiton, to rename the product or company and then engage in predetory dumping. But come on, your not in financial problems and although Attila has some problems it is certainly not a faulty product.... In this case it is obvious that you at CA simply read through the numerous threads on the forums last week, which jumped up asking if there will ever be free content for Attila. And then someone in the office had the "smart" idea of calling the update a Free LC one day before it`s release..... and for some weird reasons you all decided:

With this move you are giving people who complain about everything ammunition and look a bit like you have no clue what you are doing in terms of marketing and communication with the community.

The free content for Rome 2 that everyone enjoyed and wanted were mainly the Seleucids, Massalia and the Getea. All fo them factions... So please start talking about the Suebians. And dont.. Just really dont.. rename a patch as a "Free LC" just 1 day before it`s release. I am not saying that because I feel offended or any other petty reason, I am saying that because it makes you look a bit silly. Like if you were trying to convince us that something is something that it clearly is not.

I think they refer to Blood and Gore dlc as flc. So we have patch, paid dlc and flc all downloaded via Steam roughly 19 hours from now. It is kind of confusing.

Now we are discussion words, aren't we. "Update" and "Free LC" aren't new fancy words that CA invented to advertise their products. The words "update", "free LC" or "patch" are used interchangeably and everyone understands that (though strictly speaking, a DLC could also be categorized as an update).

No way Blood and Gore would be free. Legal issues and age rating are the reasons.

Not really. As long as there's an option for the player to choose if he wants the "bloody" update or not, everything would be fine, legally.

Not quite. The game will be automatically patched to the lastest version which contains all F-LCs. You can only uncheck these DLCs after they have been installed. For those who are completely new to the game, chance is that they will accidentally have access to Blood and Gore without even knowing about it. Imagine the mother's horror

Well, it doesn't have to be exactly like the Free DLCs. It could be presented as an option for free installation, with the appropriate warning of course. Basically, just like downloading a typical DLC, but without having to pay for it.

Technically probs, but in TW a free LC is added content, a patch/update is modifying actual content. 99 out of 100.
But the OP had it wrong: the free LC = 12 mercenaries available for all.

Still not worthy of the name free LC IMO.

The reasons for listing it at $2.99 on Steam? Hardly.

What the hell are you talking about? The FreeLC is 12 new mercenary units that everyone will get. They will be released together with the Celtic DLC at the same day as the Update.

Yeah. I am willing to call it a Free LC.

But until today it was called "update" and now it suddently is a Free LC.

Which to me simply seems to be a somewhat not thought through marketing decision.

I would call it Free LC if CA had called it a Free LC from the start and not just one day before release.

We don't expect all 'Free-LC' to be equal in everyone's eyes, sure, but it still is what it is and we hope you enjoy it anyway. You might enjoy the next Free-LC more.

Oh, I see now. But it stills says Update in the official forum and the wiki page. Also, Darren calls the new merc units a part of the "Tin isles update" in the rally point video. So... maybe you're overreacting a bit?

It is a patch as well though - so you could be justified in calling it misleading if we did do that originally.

So I guess they simply made a mistake.

    CA are humans after all!!!

OK, so after re-watching Rally Point again I am really confused. So according to Amazon Blood and Gore should be out 25 of march, the same date as Celts and patch, yet it is not the "flc/update/add-on" as CA clearly label flc the mercenary portion. So is Amazon just wanting our money? Are they any official stance on status of Blood and Gore from CA (dlc/flc/flc for owner of Rome 2 Blood and Gore)? Whats going on! Answer me Internet and I will sacrifice cookies in your name!

I wouldn't take seriously any info that's on Amazon right now. No official announcement has been made regarding the release date for blood DLC as far as I know.

They're still chopping off content for the faction patches. I have plenty of ammunition to launch at them. The game's in a poor, incomplete state.

I think the word Free LC originates from a user on this very forum actually... have a vague memory of some of CA forumites picking up on it saying it was a nice wording.

I don`t understand this kind of logic. Are you seriously telling CA that they should not have released a free `LC` for their own good? Seriously?

What do you hope to gain by this strange move? A pat on the back? A job offer? A smilie? What?

Also, CA has provided us `complainers` plenty of ammo to slap them with, not releasing a free LC will make no difference, but it might help their case a little releasing one. Were you not also bitterly complaining at CA just recently as well?

Wow, you kids switch and change with the wind like grass, complaining against CA one minute, then advising CA not to do something to avoid other people`s complaints.

    Not very consistent, are you?

I am still waiting for the free Zone of control fix LC? When does that drop?
Shogun 2, no thanks I will stick with Kingdoms SS.
