New Visigothic Shock Cavalry....For Variety's Sake

As someone who has been in a recent addiction to playing as the goths, I would love to see an elite Visigothic shock cavalry unit that looks like the Gothic general unit (with the same decorative horse armor, and colorful unique shields) but with a lance/charge bonus.

I think there's too much unit reuse among the various factions -- Gothic and Germanic factions especially. At least the Ostrogoths can aim for a region with a Roman barracks to get some unit variety. Visigoths get a slinger unit. Seriously.

I don't have a good enough grasp on TW modding to do it yet, unfortunately. Perhaps a skilled and like-minded modder might be interested?

I haven't fully researched into Gothic warfare yet, but IIRC later Goths did form a heavy cav bodyguard so more than likely. Dunno if it will be considered "shock" or not

Glad to hear it. If you haven't already, read some of Phil Sidnell's Warhorse: Cavalry in Ancient Warfare. I thought it was a fun read. In Ch.7 there are a lot of references to Gothic cavalry, namely the Visigoths. I think you'll like it.

I'm betting that you could get it if you're crafty. I did a quick Google search and brought it up in Google Books. If you search for "Visigoth" or "Attila" it brings up the part of Ch.7 that discusses the Goths/Huns/Alans.
