Question About Marriages betweeen Generals and Widows From Other Countries Already in your Family
So I am playing as the ERE and my heir Rufius Flavius recently died fighting the Huns. He was married to an Armenian Princess who stayed in my family tree after his death. So I tried to marry here to one of my generals and the next turn it says that her and my general got married. However my generals portrait is gone from the column on the left of the family tree menu were all non family member portraits are and the Armenian Princess is no longer in my family tree. However it still says my general still has his office on the right column and it also says he is still a govoner as well. So what happened to my general did he join the Armenian family tree or was he suppose to appear in my family tree and didnt due to a bug. Also the Armenian Princess had no children.

I think he joined the other family. I did the same thing within my own faction with a princess and she disappeared from my tree as well, presumably to join that man's "family".
I think its similar to how in M2tw you could marry a princess to a rival faction and bring that general over to your side. what the point of giving a princess to antoher faction is, I don't know.

Simply joining another family does not remove the character from your family tree if the character is an original member of your family tree.
But the complication with OP's issue is that you have a female member who was originally from another faction that became part of your family tree, and is now married to someone who was not originally part of your family tree. So maybe this caused the female character to reset family trees to her original family tree only (and this would bring your non-family general to whatever family tree she is in), but I have never done this before so I'm not sure.

The influence of the princess' husband, even if the husband is a member of another faction, is added to the total influence of your family, I believe.
