Default {Request} Ablity for defender to withdraw during settlement battles

I've just defended a settlement against overwhelming odds - it was clear my inferior forces wouldn't survive so I decided to save my men and abandon the settlement to the enemy. It was the most desperate rear-guard action but I was able fight my way out. I then had to defend a hill with the survivors until timeout because of the force-wall border of the battlefield wouldn't let me pass. Then after the battle all my men were listed as lost! I can understand all the defenders being lost defending a walled fort/castle as they are surrounded and trapped. But an open settlement battle should allow retreat.

Could any modder out there fix it so:

    A) defenders can use the withdraw off map button.
    or
    B) if A cant be done then for the surviving defenders of a lost settlement battle be withdrawn on the campaign map.

I don't think thats ever been in a TW game. I would doubt it would be possible at all. I would like to see that too, but CA would have to do that, and I bet they couldn't even do it with a patch.
