You don't need to unpack kingdoms campaigns to play them, there is no "Kingdoms.exe" to find, Steam has compiled Medieval2 and Kingdoms.exe into a single file (for whatever reason) named Medieval2.exe
Make a shortcut to the medieval2.exe, right click and select "Properties", and add --features.mod=mods/campaigntoplay to the "target" line. So if you want to play the Kingdoms British isles campaign your "target" line on the shortcut should look like this:
Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\medieval ii total war\medieval2.exe" --features.mod=mods/british_isles
of for the crusaders campaign:
Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\medieval ii total war\medieval2.exe" --features.mod=mods/crusades
Some will tell you to add the mod=mods part to your steam options. It works, but I like having the separate shortcuts for the different campaigns.
If you want to un-pack the campaigns TomatoesYay, who is also running windows 8 just recently posted about that,
