Default What is it with Tylis?

In my current Epeiros campaing, i've had the Sarmatians, Bosporans and Lugians attack tylis, despite not sharing a land border with it, and me having Histria. Any particular reason why the AI really loves that province? Sarmatians are wondering through Asia to get there again with a few horse archers

    Whylis?

Jokes aside, it might be worth checking if it's included in their victory conditions, that might be the reason.

If you could create a thread for this in the bug report thread that would be helpful if you consider this to be probably a bug.

What is the status on the surrounding regions, are all of them taken? I'm asking, because I remember reading somewhere on this site that the CAI acts on the premise that all those nasty, filthy rebels should die, die, DIE!!!

Could this be an explanation for your observations? (I hope I didn't offend anyone with my wording.)

    Hi,

Tylis is mine as long as this has been happening. And the province is shared by only my faction, and no rebels are in place. The Getai sometimes go there despite having 2 cities border their lands, and the Lugiones and later sauromatae attacked it, despite me not sharing land borders with them. The Sarmatians actually had a stack there for like 20 turns while i was still at peace with them, just slowly adding unit after unit of horse archers to the stack. Quite funny actually :d

Ah, my apologies, I thought Tylis was in another province than Histria. I kinda misunderstood the situation, so I'm sorry I couldn't be of any use.

Well Histria is the city on the NE of Tylis, it's own province, and it's closer to all the factions than the province with Tylis in. Yet the AI seems to often ignore the closest city it shares a border with, and just marches through my territory and attacks tylis. That's the issue here

This is the only region in which the Elite Thracian Infantry can be recruited.

Honestly, the reasons can be numerous, including economic expansion. I haven't opened my EB2 game for a while now, but IIRC there were resources, as well as a port, which would increase sea trade... a lot.

Also wanted to add. 2nd campaing in a row Sinope also seems to be the place everyone wants But instead of naval invasions it's getting land migrated too by the KH, Sarmatians, Bosporus and Armenians fun times

In my game stack after stack of Getai are marching through the lands held by other factions and disappear into Asia Minor. I think they may very well be after Sinope.

    edit:
    I was right.
