faction leader can not find new wife

while playing as Sassanid the king dies to soon at 48. The heir had a wife that got assasinated and forgot about seek new wife. And now with the new king must have done 10 tries to find a new wife with no succsess. Everyone else usually manage it one first try but not king. Anyone else had this small problem?

Yep, comes and goes on different characters. I've had a few that had the mishapen trait so it made sense no one wanted the Quasimodo, but then again I've had characters who had the handsome trait and still struck out. Small sword, maybe?

He`s just unlucky. Give it time and keep trying. Even if he don`t find a wife someone else will take over eventually.

I like this aspect of the game as it`s quite realistic.

I also think that if the supreme chief of a nation wants to find a wife, he should have 100% chance of finding one, in one turn (mod, anyone?). This option is like seeking a random "noblewoman", not someone real big like a princess from someone's else country. It should be used only when you cant arrange an extremely profitable marriage (alliance), something that is extremely well represented in Crusader Kings, not really in Total War but its already muuuuuucho better than Rome 2.

Actually, the higher you stand, the fewer amenable candidates there are. A High King must not be married to a dull noble lady of ordinary background. Either a wife that could command respect, or no wife at all

But that is exactly what are the wives in this game, except those by arranged marriages: dull and ordinary ladies (with their individuality ofc).

Or can you retrace back the lineage of the ones married in your family tree? Some even have negative traits that makes them not worthy.
Wives picked at random are exactly that, random noblewomen with random traits that enables you to give children, with no diplomatical value. Its a fast-lane option.

Also I would debate that even in the tiniest society, there is a few dozens if not hundreds women of good birth (or just beautiful) orbiting around the most powerful man. If he wants one of them, he take her and basta.

It's your faction's leaders SMALL problem thats the problem, try giving him this

i've found the same issue. Seems the faction leader will be more difficult to find a wife. it happened to me when I play WRE, ERE and Sassanid.

Check if he is an "Eunuch", "weak of flesh" or "favours the other side". That actually means he will have to adopt people
