Who's willing? I can't be the only one that gets tired of having to use Germanic Spearmen and Germanic Horsemen in almost every campaign.

Its certainly something I've been playing with the idea of - a mod to increase the cultural and tribal differences between each barbarian kingdommy ideas so far
Alemans - multiple tribal units, showcasing the true 'confederacy' nature of the Alemanni. Tribes would include Suebian warriors, Heruli and other lesser German tribes.
Langobards - a focus on more 'heroic' style units, an unrivaled ferocity in battle but lower defense values to compensate. Late era units upgrade to heavy cavalry to reflect history.
Burgundians - initial roster would start more Nordic than Germanic, with some lower level Baltic units playing a part. Later roster would be more towards Eastern/steppic style of warfare
Franks - a focus on higher quality levy and free men troops. Later era would reflect early Merovingian warfare.
Saxons - early roster would focus on the use of the seax for freemen/lower nobility. Light cavalry would play a bit of a higher roll than most northern Germans because of the Horse's sacred nature to the Saxons.
Suebians - high focus on skirmishing units using hit and run tactics against the Romans, with later generals and units reflecting Roman comitatus
Can't think of anything else off the top of my head but I'm working on learning how to create and edit units to get the ball rolling on this. I miss modding!
A lot of the units are already there too. The dog units of Alani and Sarmatian spears have unique stats and models and can be made as real spear units. And the general units for franks, goths, vandals can be repurposed as replacement for Noble germanic horsemen.
Other ideas:
Goths - Focus on low armor and high defense for units like spearmen as a mirror counterpart for gothic warband. Gothic units in general with more Scandinavian influences including patterned rounded shields and more mail instead of scale. Defector units replaced with romanized Gothic troops carrying the oval shields instead of the coffins and using mail while still having a barbarian look.
Vandals/Alans - 1-2 spear units like the alani or sarmatian dog units, more focus on steppe and high-end bow units for alans and more suebi/germans for vandals with some commonalities
Franks - nothing much to say here since you already covered it, but francisca-precursor melee cavalry would be different enough departure from the current roster of spear-melee cav for the franks.
I'm not really sure if I will do the Alani, I'm definitely no expert in steppe warfare, I know more about Germanic. I definitely plan on expanding the rosters of most of the Germanic tribes. Thanks for the ideas about the Vandals, I was very unsure about that. You read my mind about the Goths, I would definitely make their troops upgrade to Romanized units rather than their strange current roster. Do you have a steam account?
