Windows 8.1 compatibility? Keep getting CTD's

So, I bought MTW2 off of steam with kingdoms alongside it, but just a couple off turns into my campaign it chrashed to the desktop. I wasnt even able to run the game at high specs without lag. All my drivers are up to date as well.

Here are my specs.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M
24 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows 8 (build 9200), 64-bit

Are there any fixes i could download, or is the game simply not compatible with newer rigs?

Crashes sometimes happen, but unless there has been a drastic change in the last 2 weeks MTW" should run fine with Windows 8.1. I am not 100% sure but to the graphics chip is rather weak, isn't it?
