    THE RULES

    - When admin intervention is needed you must send admin a PM.
    - If the Admin doesn't get a PM don't expect anything to get done

    - Time to play your turn is 24h. The Admin may grant a 24h extension if needed.
    - If you have to be subbed more than a few times or you need an extension too often or for too many days you can expect to be skipped, replaced and/or penalized
    - No exploits/bugs allowed. F.e. movement bug, merchant stack/fort, agent stomping, surrounding armies/navies to deny retreat, armies on ships to go through enemy zone of control (brown tiles where armies should stop), spies spreading plague.. ect
    - If you are discovered using an exploit/bug/cheat of any kind (don't act stupid we all know what constitutes as a glitch/bug/cheat) then you will be removed from the HotSeat and banned from any HotSeat I host in the future. This is a 0 tolerance rule. So if you think what you are doing might be an exploit.. well then guess what? It probably is. Confirm with myself or an Admin if you need to before making a post.


    Military rules
    - Battles between human players are auto-resolved. Screenshots must be posted with: odds and result screens, mouse over the odds bar to show the ratio, the armies involved with their banners visible on the campaign map, unit card of siege unit (ballista/catapult) must be visible if used to directly assault settlement.
    -No Hostile actions against any player on turn 1. This includes entering another players land with an agent
    - Battles vs AI can be played. No screenshots needed.
    - Armies that are defeated in battle by a player that comes after them in the turn list may not move the following turn. This is to make it fair for people who are defeated by players that come before them in the turn list. Armies standing in fortifications (fort/settlement) when defeated are excluded from this rule.
    - Heroic victories vs players aren't allowed (exception when it's impossible to get another result)
    - Ships cannot leave blockaded ports. No attacking ships in ports using a game bug. It's not allowed to keep units protected by placing them in ships docked in a port. .
    - Not allowed to sally out if the result is a defeat.


    Agent rules
    - Spies are not allowed to open Gates
    - It's allowed to have 2 assassins + 1 for every 15 regions you own (when you have 15 regions you can have 3 assassins, 30 regions - 4 assassins)
    - Princesses are not allowed to steal Generals/Family Members. They may marry other players characters only through diplomatic means.
    - Assassins cannot sabotage. Not allowed to kill family members, generals, princesses. They need 60% chance to assassinate, against other assassins just 40% needed. Screenshots required.
    - Merchants need 60% to acquire other merchant's assets. Only allowed in your own regions, Rebel Controlled Regions, or regions you have aquired Trade rights to. Screenshots required

    Settlement rules
    - No destroying buildings. Only inns/guilds are allowed to be destroyed and only if settlement is not under siege.
    - When receiving a region through diplomacy all units except 1 must be disbanded.
    - Not allowed to exterminate settlements

    List of changes.. the ones i can remember anyway
    Removed Milan, Florence, Swiss, Hungary and all rebel settlements and reasigned them to each player faction.
    Balanced as well as increased starting $$ for all factions.
    Every Faction has at least one cannon producing building.
    Removed Settlement limitations. Now you may choose which settlements to make into a Large City.
    New Turn Order. 1)Swabia. 2)Naples. 3)Spain. 4)HRE. 5)Venice. 6)Ottoman. 7)Papal States. 8)France
    Loyalty Balances for Swabian Generals and a few others.
    New Generals added for each faction to help manage the increase in lands.
    A few other small changes that don't come to mind currently.. im very tired

    Remember to make copies of whatever you overwite so you can switch back to Vanilla Itallian Wars whenever you want

    Only the one who creates the hotseat has to put the new campaign_script file

    I also wanted to check this mod to make a hotseat. Who will be admin, I'd like to play so I can't admin.

    Wecome back, Macrath. Good to have you back.

    I seem to be a glutton for punishment lately, so I'll sign up as a player. I'm willing to try something new & different. It looks like an interesting mod for singleplayer.
    But we've never had a hotseat so far into the pikes/tercios/gunpowder era I'm wondering how battles will turn out. Esp with Lusted's BAI.
    I expect issues.

    And now I switch to Gaming Staff mode. You will need to have 2 admins available. I'm doing this to all new games involving players here. The second is just an emergency back up in case
    the first disappears. That person should be one of the Gaming Staff from Westeros or Third Age forums.

    I'd also like to suggest posting a thread announcing the game in the Italian Wars forum. Invite the mod creator and people who have only visited there to join in.

    Ill join, taking something - just wanted to notify that I intend to participate.

    Do you intend to fill all the factions? Seems doubtful that we are enough for that.

    Thnx Cannon, glad to be back finally. And thnx for the tips. I been in talks with the mod leader for a while talking about how his mod would work for HotSeats and have invited anyone from the team to join. I will be making a post in the Italian Wars mod Thread as well to let mod fans know about the HotSeat. And as for an Admin that will be takin care of soon. And yeah it wouldn't be a HotSeat without some issues lol
    I was hoping to fill each faction, but it's not needed. Milan, Swiss and Florence we could do without. I will wait a bit to see if we can fill all the spots before starting the HotSeat. Probably start the campaign on Saturday/Sunday.

    And yes Tavix i have installed and played the mod for a few hours. Looks like it will make for a fun and competitive HotSeat.

    I would ask Neadal for help if you are having trouble getting his mod to work. I am quite useless in many things, assisting with mod installation is certainly one of those things

Looking in the files it seems like the install didn't create the mod's folder. Most of the mod's files are just in the main mod folder sitting next to SS, KGCM, Westeros, etc. I'll try to fix it tonight and report back.

    No, it didnt creates a mods folder. You have to create one and name it Italian_Wars. That worked for me.

    I think that GHZ folder is supposed to be DIK's folder. Timestamp at time of install and has text and descr_sm_factions inside it.

    Also, EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION , the DIk.cfg file has all settings under "hotseat" and "misc" commented out (the single # sign on lines in that file). You will need to edit this by removing all single # signs. Don't touch the double # lines (##). If you don't feel comfortable doing this, once I get my singleplayer working I will fix my copy and I can post the corrected cfg file here for others to use.

    I managed to make it work eventually. What I did wrong at start was naming the mod's folder Italian Wars instead of Italian_Wars. When I put the right name it runs with no problems.

    Imo, 24 hours to play your turn is too little amount of time for a global mod like this one. What about 72 h?

    Welcome I think 24 hrs is more than enough time. No need to make the HS slower than it needs to be.
    Any suggested rule changes please PM me And make sure to check the Rules when the campaign begins just in case changes have been made.

    I would prefer seeing you playing a proper hotseat Joe ^^

    24 hours is enough, I wont play if the limit is 72. 36 I can live with, turns does not take that long to play and if RL takes time then a post asking a little extension is fine. I would much rather be more liberal with the extension rule. I've been late much as of late but things are better again, rather a rushed turn than a hotseat with 10 players taking a month for one turn.
