u could post this here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-DLC-announced but anyway, i think there is such possibility since until we see their full rosters we wont know for sure.

I have the feeling the farthest CA will go will be just regular WRE/ ERE units that you can recruit when playing as Picts or whatever.

To be fair though, that's probably as far as it went in real life, it's not like we have extensive evidence that they fielded troops that were so unlike Romans yet also so unlike Celts, and at the same time so much like a combination of both. At least I've never encountered such information (in which case I doubt CA would either).

They could also be making what is basically a Roman faction in Britain, but I have huge doubts about that, what with the size of the British regions in the game, and that the WRE already starts there. If they bother to make a new emergent faction that is suppose to represent the Romano-British I have high doubts they will go all the way to make distinct units for them, it wouldn't be profitable.

If anything, they're probably making a DLC campaign where the Romano-British are just the Romans in that campaign. That way they're not limited with the constraints of the grand campaign, plus they can just copy over the Roman stuff. That's profitable.
Heck let's go for the trifecta: They'll make a Britain campaign, with the Romano-British faction and their uits a pre-order DLC incentive.

Maybe there will be defector units like some other factions have. That would be cool.

Some barbarian factions have them. They are Roman units who defected from the Empire and fight for someone else.

I am going to guess that they will have roman cavalry defectors.

I think the Britons at the time, which included the Caledonians, made use of Roman equipment. Therefore it makes sense for them to have Roman style units too. I think the Picts would have been less influenced by the Romans, being farther north. The Ebdani made use of Roman coins but I doubt they used Roman style equipment, unless they had looted it from defeated Romano-Britons.

I would particularly want the Britain faction (since it is the Romano-British stand-in) to use Celtic units, since really the Britons of this time would've still had a very strong Celtic cultural and genetic influence.

Theses "defector" units are nonsensical imo. The worst are the "desert" vesion of them.

I think something like "Gothic Veterans" is reasonable as a lot of them joined Alaric following the xenophobic persecution in which Stilicho was killed.

So the thousands of Roman soldiers who joined Alaric after Stilicho's murder suddenly become Gothic? No way, they are the very definition of defectors.
