Default Any chance for free factions?

Of the few good things after the release of Rome 2, some of the factions that were unlocked for free, were a pritty ok feature. Eventhough most of them reeked of not having enought effort put into them. Especialy Pontus, Baktria and horrificly bland and dull Armenia faction. Massalia were soso and the only factions that were made available for free and really had anykind of effort put into them were the Getea and the Seleucids.

Still. In Attila it seems CA decided to get ridd of alot of the bland faction concepts that merely copied other factions and all playbale factions are really unique in their starting positions and units. I dare say that we will not encounter something as catastrophic as Syracuse for Attila, which was essentialy Athens on an island.

But will there be any factions in Attila that are made available for free? And will CA bother putting any effort into fleshing those factions out to be truely unique?

When I see the Suebians on the campaign map they seem to scream "play me!". And historicaly they were of enought significants during that time period to warrant making them playable. They were certainly more significant than the Alani, Langobards or any of the "Viking" factions. And I do not see a possible DLC concept which could sell us this faction unless CA would start selling packs with single factions (which will preobably end up being a DLC that nobody would buy).

But besides the Suebians I dont see a single faction that could in any way warrant being made playable for free. Do you?

The Gepids who conquered the Germanian lands left behind by the migrating Goths and Germanic kingdoms? - sounds boring...
The Quadians or Markomans who tried to fight off the Huns but then migrated? - They essentialy joined up with the Suebians and became part of the Suebians...
The Armenians who were torn up between the Sassanids and ERE? - I am pritty sure that they will be made playable as an Eastern Empires DLC together with Parthia and Abasgia.
The Magyars, Izyges and Roxolanies? - Those will certainly be made available in a Nomads DLC...
The Gaetulians, Himyar and Maurians? - Those are certainly reserved for a desert cultures DLC...

Besides the Suebians there is really nothing in the campaign that looks remotly like it might be intended to be given to us for free in the future.

So is CA puting and end to this practise? Will there only be one faction made available for free? Could they possibly make other things available for free like units? Will they add a completly new playble faction that isnt on the map yet? Or could they make an entire culture set with up to 3 factions available for free?

I find Suebians extremely boring faction i would rather see that u get to play some rebel faction (an experiment of some sort) - for example some rebel faction in Spain with one stack and then u build up. That would make imo extremely interesting Roman-Iberian roster.

Well. There unfortunalty isnt a unique Iberian army core with unique Iberian units. Eventhough there should be.

The Astures and Vascones for example briefly gained independence and it is fair to say that these two tribes didnt fully adopt a Roman culture and style of warfare.

The only way I see the implementation of this as a viable would be with a seperate startpos like in Empire. Where the American faction also had it`s seperate startpos. But even with that, I think CA wouldnt go through the effort of making it available for free. In such a case it is more likely that you will see some "Roman Seperatists" DLC, which makes Britain, Iberia and gaul playable in the main campaign with their own unqique startpos that makes their campaign start at arround 410-420 AD.

The only free faction we'll get on attila is possibly another horse faction again, just like what they did in Rome 2. The most unbalanced and no re-playability faction, of course.
