Default Is it just an assumption that there will be a Celt dlc?

I see lots of people talk about it. Is there any evidence that there will actually be a dlc for the Celts in Britain? My reason for asking is I've never seen anything official and I would think if CA were going to do it, it would have been one of the first dlc's available. I mean, vikings are always going to be popular, so I can see making the decision to release the forefathers dlc, but the Celts almost seem like they should be part of that mod since the vikings invaded Britain historically. Just seems weird that we'd get the Longbeards before the Celts.

It is pritty obvious. Just open the files with pfm and look for yourself. There are traces of it everywhere.

    So far I have found:

    Celtic Edicts.
    Celtic Cultures and Subcultures.
Celtic army cores with no units assigned to them yet and which arent used by any factions.
Celtic seperatist factions which arent used in the game yet.

All of that is already in the game and very promissing.

I believe that there is even a possibility that the entire Celtic unit structure will be reworked so that they no longer are a simple bland copy of the Norsemen.

But yeah... When I found unused models for Celtic britanic Horsemasks in the Rome 2 files i also thought that this meant a Britain DLC for Rome 2 and i was wrong.

But in this case there is simply to much stuff in the files for it to remain unused for to long.

Not exactly, but I can ascertain that it was probably easier for CA to release the Longbeards pack early as they already have their core Germanic roster and would only need to add a few new features to it in order to get it done. Honestly, it's not a culture pack that interested me in the slightest but I am glad that CA went ahead and quickly got it "out of the way" so that the next DLC will involve a new culture/religion (Celtic, Slavic, Sarmatian) in order to fill in the game more. However, sometimes I look at the campaign map and realize that Attila still has quite a few Germanic factions available that could theoretically become playable one day (Angles, Gepids, Suebi) and I groan...

Yeah I was somewhat surprised by some of those decisions as well. Suebi was in Rome 2 so maybe they left it out because of redundancy? I don't know. But I'm surprised the Angles aren't playable. I mean, that's half of the term Anglo-Saxon! The term "England" is derived from Anglos. Maybe the assumed Celtic dlc will be an invasion of Britain dlc that will have not only a Celtic overhaul of the island, but playable Angles as well. That would be cool!

I could see that happening. Some kind of King Arthur DLC with three Celtic factions with Angles as FLC.

By releeasing a campaign dlc with king Arthur on the British Islands wich also gives playable factions and new units in grand campaign Ca would:
-Have a famous name to market the dlc (Arthur)
-Have a large potential market fort the dlc (all of Britain just like they partly did Vikings for us Scandinavians)
-Follow the pattern they did with previous campaign dlcs for Rome II (the faction packs look the same as Rome IIs so why not
    the campaign packs aswell?)
-Loads of proof in the files of it happening.
-There aren't really that many other potential dlcs in this timeperiod for new faction/campaigns that would interest many.

What I think Ca will do wich would be in line with what they did for rome II and thus far attila is they will release the above dlc and then the Celtic units as a freelc for them to boast about their niceness. they've never restricted dlc units from non dlc
owners campaigns in Attila or Rome II.

Really hoping for a comprehensive Britannia+King Aurthur DLC too.

I can totally see a Arthur/Britannia campaign with a detailed map of britain and a lot of different celtic tribes.
Similar to Caesar in Gaul maybe, with the major celtic factions added to grand campaign as well.

Wish they'd hurry up, gamers don't wait around forever and Attila isn't introducing that many new and cool features to keep us occupied so long.

Blood and gore should definitely be out by now, as should the rest of the DLCs that have robbed content from the original Attila grand campaign experience which I only play once with each Total War game (I can put upwards of 300 hours into one grand campaign, so I can rarely be bothered to start it all over again just so a faction should get the new units it was meant to have).

Agreed. And I bet a Battle for Brittania mini-campaign will come as well, which would be cool. But long term, I'd like to see a Rise of Islam campaign, that's what I'm personally hoping for.

Looks like its going to be a paid DLC. I was expecting this to be free, since they were blatantly using placeholders for Celts.

Ha, and here were us mugs thinking they'd designed an Arthur in Britain DLC.

Nope, that would be way too much work. They made the units before along with all the other Hunnic, Western Roman, Eastern Roman, Alamani units etc. etc. and just decided to cut these particular ones as part of their DLC strategy.

Like I said, it's the equivalent of your estate agent unlocking your kitchen for you a month after you bought the house.

Expecting anything that would benefit the community from CA these days is just asking for trouble. No; expect quick cash-grabs that insult the intelligence of the established fanbase. I'd like to say vote with your wallet but at the same time there are many who said the same and went on to buy Attila at launch having not learnt anything.
