Its a script.
Ok. Where in the script does it list the units available after the reform? I want to, for example, be able to make a Thorax Spear unit available at the Thureos reforms.
If u want late game units just use pfm manager to change script requirements.http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...criptorium.uae the link above to change requirements. Hope it helps
Out of memory, so be careful: there are some scripts for reforms. Some are.lua scripts and some normal scripts. You find them at different locations in the DeI-pack. You would like to change the normal script (or the other way round, I'm not sure, look into the scripts). The lua script contains the conditions when reforms do happen. Not of interest here. One of the normal script lists all the units which belong to the special reforms for the different cultures. You can extract it, open it with an editor, copy a unit and paste it. I think you can even copy units in the PFM. I always extract before changing. For the Greeks you see a list with the thureos units and then the thorax units. Simply copy the thorax unit (f.e. Phalangitai Thorakitai) and paste it under the thureos reforms. Be careful with scripts, some mistakes with spaces or so can ruin the game. When I'm at home I could give you the exact name of the script.

Basically, you don't...
Maybe the TS has lost interest, but nevertheless: the script with the reform units to change is in the DeI-pack under "script", then "lib", named lib_reforms_main_lua.
I really do hate to dig up an old thread but would anyone know a quick and easy method as to how I'd go about unlocking the first set of Legionaries in the new 1.1 patch? I've played through so many Roman campaigns that waiting another 100 turns just to upgrade seems a bit tedious. I'd be much, much appreciative if anyone could point me a method to upgrade my early, spear-wielding Hastati/Principes to either the late, sword bearing set of Hastati/Principes or to the non-lorica segmentata Legionaries.
Open the "1" pack of DEI with PFM. Navigate to lua_scripts -> reforms.lua. Scroll down to the segment titled "PLAYER REFORMS PARAMTERS SECTION" and under the "MAIN ROME CAMPAIGN" header, adjust the required Imperium and turn number to what you want. I personally do "2, 5, 2, 11, 2, 250" which makes it require Imperium 2 and turn 5 for Polybian reforms and Imperium 2 & turn 11 for Marian reforms. Imperial ones come 250 turns in. As far as starting units, that requires you to edit the startpos.esf, which is a nightmare (it's the most insanely anti-logical file I have personally ever witnessed) but it's definitely doable if you want to waste your time digging up the armies and units. There are tutorials for that elsewhere on TWC.
Ah alright, thank you! do you know if editing the reform variables is savegame compatible? and if it is, would I need to set the turns to activate ahead of my current number of turns, or would setting it to a amount beneath mine also trigger them?
Edit: just realized it is, no need to answer. thanks again though, your insight was much appreciated.

I don't know. My guess is the game loads the script at campaign start and that is it, but I could be wrong.
