Default Unit Mass and Spacing - aka get fat and pervy - video guide

If Total War Attila was the way to go irl, then we all should get fat and start molesting each other physically, as explained here:

    cheers!

Good videos. I really like the part about speed, which clearly shows how CA got things wrong:

    - Infantry's running speed is almost 2,5 times greater than its walking speed. It's a bit too high IMHO. Running speed should be only about twice as big as walking speed. There is a reason why the term "on the double" exists. Charging speed should also be slightly reduced for infantry.

    - For cavalry OTOH, walking speed is too low. Yes, horse does not walk much faster than human, but cavalry didn't walk into battle. For maneuvering they would use trot (about 12 kph, as fast as a running man), running was equivalent of canter (20 kph) and charge of galloping (40 kph).

    - As you mentioned, the same charging speed for all type of cavalry is clearly a mistake. Heavy cavalry didn't gallop very often, not only to avoid instant exhaustion but also to maintain formation (which confered a huge psychological advantage). It has been well-known that heavy cavalry usually attacked in tight formation at canter.

now i know it's not my imagination some infantry seems faster than some cav on the battlefield (especially when fatigue hits)

This is more of a modding thing?

Hi. A bit out of topic...there is a way to modify the default camera zoom on battles? Instead having that extra large view by default, i would prefere a closer one, lets say how it was on older total war titles like Napoleon. Also, on Shogun the mouse scroll speed for zooming was customisable on preferences script, here on Attila it seems is not, at least for now. Thanks

    Hey,
first you can change camera to old TW style in in game options-> controls -> look at the bottom left
second you can change much mroe settings in a preferences file @ "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Attila\scripts\preferences.script.txt"
just press LCTRL+F and type camera, then find al land play with teh values listed

    cheers

LOL, that charge speed 12 explains a lot. I was wondering if my system was bugged seeing as heavy cavalry seems to start to zerg (speed) when they get close to my units.
