A full reskin the the Eastern Romans will Be done First with Obliviously adding Justintine As faction leader the Startpos will be completely redone is the fashion to represent the time frame .It will look something like this

well prior to all the territory he had taken in his life The mod with start at the beginning of the Gothic Wars and The Eastern Empire's retaking of Italy I am currently working on finding skins of an early Byzantine Empire army

    That old crook.

I'd love to play this though

Only Justinian didn't gain office until 527 and there were four other emperors between then and 476. How can you ensure he'd even show up in the game?
Perhaps best to start it in 518 with him as the heir and Justin as Augustus... the beginning of the dynasty.

Glory to the Roman Empire! To heroes glory!

I strongly support such a modification, hopefully we will see epic new reskins for the Roman faction, also the Gothic War sounds really cool - finaly a large scale war where you can lead your legions and fight, not the vanilla siege fest as the Western Roman Empire...

he Eastern Empire being labeled now the Byzantine Empire
NO. Bro, do not... please. The empire was never labeled "Byzantine empire"... it was called the "Roman Empire" right until 1453. The term Byzantine was invented by German historians in 19. century, it is a misleading word that IMO is also lame. As a player I do NOT want to see that term ever reused in any game, be it Medieval III, or a mod for TW:Attila.

Yah the term "Byzantine Empire" was created in the modern era. They were Romans to the end, even when they stopped speaking Latin. Maybe Romania?

Please no! They called themselves the roman empire until their last breath! You could go with the latin Imperium Romanorum or the greek Basileia tōn Rhōmaiōn.

Would love to see this mod. Currently reading a book about Belisarius and would love to fight some of his campaigns in North Africa and Italy.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks as of right now while I've been waiting for mod tools from CA I've been trying to find the standards for the gothic , Frankish and Saxon kingdoms this will be important in my mod as it will show that the simple barbarians of the migration period are now established as somewhat civilized kingdoms if anyone has any historical reference to such things please post ..I am looking far and wide

There are two old mods, East of Rome and Age of Darkness II covering this period.
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...of-Darkness-II
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forum...5-East-of-Rome

I sugest looking through their previews and download and take pictures of their units (and city names and faction icons....) in game.

In particular Pompeius Magnus for age of darkness II is an expert, he has written several short articles on the time in the mod forum and I'm sure he gives sources everywhere. You can also go asking in the invasio Barbarorum forum maybe?

If you start around 476 Roman holdouts like Regnum Noviodonum or Kingdom of Soissons ruled by Aegidius should be considered. Another might be Julius Nepos ruling Dalmatia. The Vandals and Ostrogoths were themselves fairly Romanised. Even the Franks were recorded as building a circus in later fifth century. Perhaps with new CA tools, a hybrid Romano-German culture could be created.
