Default Is ROME II forgotten or it's just me?

Recently playing ¨(trying out Attila) I've found as much as I hate Rome II, that much I love Attila. Graphics are superb(7950HD) and finally the one from a screenshots in ROME II. Radious are making a lot of new units to have a unit diversity at all and lot of more mods are coming. Still deepness is missing and no faction is trying to make an empire. No AI, just a cheap substitute in four stack armies at your doorstep and some out of the nowhere coming armies, just to raid over and over again the same empty settlement.FPS are still low as end turns, later in game are taking forever.DLC'S are not making the game more fun.At least not for me.And while playing(spent a lot of more hours compare to ROME II) I do have a feeling I'll be not able to play ROME II again.I feel cheated.

I thought it was a given that we would all forget about R2 if attila proved to be a much better game. I was saying it even before release. and I was very right

I like Attila a lot more. Especially with Radious.

Actually, i`m sure CA said they would retro-patch Rome 2 at the same time as Atilla, but it looks like everyone`s forgotten about that, including CA!

Well I could go searching back over all the stuff CA has said over several weeks to find out, but right now I simply don`t have the inclination. I was hoping someone might remember. But it seems I must have imagined it all.

Rome II is still the better game in most ways. Attila is grittier rawer but the battles can be quite odd. I'm still having issues knowing what will win vs what.

That's a bold statement. Attila needs alot of patching (balancing, AI tewaking), but it's superior to Rome in nearly every aspect.

It is inferior in most ways. It has some good things though, better siege maps for unwalled settlements, Horde! Political and family tree that matters. Everything else is equal or inferior really.

The only thing that Rome 2 has going for it is the time period. Other than that, and the overdone "doom and gloom" aesthetic of Attilia I can't think of anything I prefer from it vs Attila.

That is subjective, looking at how battles flow in Rome II, we have battles that make sense and unit stats that are easy to understand. We have incredible faction variety. We have statstics better represented in tooltips. We have fertile regions represented by town modifiers, and building modifiers are abundant to really tailor your empire. Naval battles, with epic ships i might add. The Rome II world is just more vibrant and alive, more clutch. No integrity,No climate change and super duper multipurpose agents that play a more active part.

Then we have Carthage, Carthage is just awesome.

Can't really find one mate. Rome II is, after Empire, the greatest CA flop.

Give it some time, and remember the world of patches R2 went through. Of course i respect your personal stance on that matter, but i think when Attila gets half the attention R2 got from CA, then it has the potential to outshine R2 in any possible way.

Issues knowing what will win vs what? Yeah, got that, too. Some more time and attention will clarify that matter, and as we all know there are all kinds of shenanigans going on with (hidden) unit stats in TW games shortly after release. This community provides a brilliant feedback to issues like that so i'm in good hope that things get sorted out.

Just yesterday my whole army got shred to pieces by Langobard Scaled Clubmen, an army i was lmao'ing at until it came to the clash and my forces disintegrated. Lesson learned, i guess. Learn some lessons, too and things will start to brighten up. Good luck, mate^^

One last thought: In Attila unit upgrades seem to be way more in action than i thought, another factor that makes it a little harder to distinguish and analyze certain units and their potential.

This is your reason why Rome 2 is better? Is this a joke? I think you might want to elaborate a bit more, because it's not having sense at all. All I'm seeing is "Rome 2 is better than Attila because my unit lost to this unit"... Nahhh, that can't be the reason.

The only thing better in Rome 2 than Attila is the time period and all I see is a unfinished-buggy mess, just like Empire.

I loaded up Rome 2 the other day - it seemed far more colourful and lively, in terms of the campaign map, due to the difference in terrain and such. Also Rome 2's campaign camera is far more zoomed in. I actually really like the unit card mod I'm running on Rome 2, although I'm not sure if I prefer it vs Attila or if it's just that the "dark age doom and gloom" of Attila is slightly overdone vs Rome 2's colour scheme.

In any case, I'm enjoying Attila. Something new and a vanilla campaign that I feel I can play is rare, so I'm happy to stick with it for now. Plus I've put hundreds of hours into Rome 2 but inevitably end up bored, and while I've had a lot of feelings of that in Attila (think I'm outgrowing gaming, or at least TW gaming) I generally like it more overall

Actually I don't think is colourful and lively more than Attila.Look at these screenshots, aren't they colourful and lively enough?
