Men! This is the official Roman Empire standoff thread. A fun game where you simply chose the half of our Empire you like more.

(RE general speech)
Imagine the world was free of barbarians, imagine there was nothing but civilaysetion!
Then we could fight each other again, like in good old times!

We would have not to worry about unwashed barberiens, there would be no smell of booze, no lousy barberian customs, no lousy barbarian women, no lousy and unwashed bastards over there on the other side of the Rhine, but only we, the Roman Empire.

With whom would you side, citizen? When the empire had the chance to unite, which half vould you give your allegiance? The Western empire, pround sons of the eternal city, direct descendats of Romulus and Remus, of Aeneas, of Mars himself!

Or the Eastern half where Anatolia meets the Arabian dessert, where desser snakes hiss in jelausy of great Constantinople, a new age and a new Empire, not that of blodthirsty and ignorant Romulus and Remus, but of Architects of a new age, and troe believers in God!

Which half is worthy to reunite and rule the known world?

Which faction has better and cooler units?

Which faction believes in god more than the other?

I'm hoping for this also!

ERE was in a better situation to survive this time period, as they did in reality. The WRE was too spread out and corrupt not to fall to the barbarian hordes. And karma really ripped them a new one.

The east and West were no different than they had been before. The idea of the eastern empire half Seing themselves as engineers of a new age is made up. This division at the beginning seemed little different from any of the other ones that had been common the last centuries.

I see the Romano-British are getting quite a head start.

Personally I also agree, would love to see a mini campaign of King Arthur (Artorios of the Romans) wanquishing the unwashed. Glory to god!

Agreed - although it did not become the "byzantien empire", it was the Roman Empire until the last outpost of it, Monemvasia on the Peloponese fell heroically in 1502 AD.

It depends!

If you're a Christian, then The Eastern Empire is to unite and rule the two Romes. It was by his degree that the Empire fully adopted Christianity and under his guidance that Byzantium - or Nova Roma, or Constantinopolis, or Konstantinoupolis, or Konstantinyye, or Istanbul, became the Empire's new capital and flourished.

If you're a Roman Pagan, then the Western Empire is to rule. All roads lead to Rome, and the old ways must come again to reclaim Rome's glory and strength. Constantine and his weak God brought doom upon Imperium and his degrees are false.

Edit; The Romano-British and Gallians of Soissons are nothing but vile heretics and pretenders, as leeches suck and feast on blood they pick off the bones of True Roman's glory. Purgatory awaits them for defying the Divine Right!
