    Not sure if this is I.D. or VDM issue, but recently noticed that the architect ancillary does not provide any effects. Is this intended?

    maybe you have other traits or ancillaries with opposite effects.

    Working very well!! A quick question: using VDM, is there anyway to replace the religions with something different (eg: state ideologies), and script a change of a countries religion/ideology?

    Hi,

    Vadants,

    A complex question,

    Is possible to give the traits 'iron' and 'timber', or any other trait associated with a commodity or not industrial produced good, only to the nation that leads in the production of that good or commodity?

    In theory, could each individual, mine, farm, plantation, etc., have a 'dummy amount' of production associated with their building level and yield level ?( like the plantations have, tea sacks, and sugar loaves!...; production towns don't change the yield level over time like industries).
    So if every production town have a 'dummy amount', the engine could sum the amounts of every nation and then reward the trait to the one with higher sum, share of production, of this variable (EU IV style), is it feasible?

    It's possible with writing a big script )) But i think it's not logical for iron and timber. Maybe for silver, gold and jewelry. But factions already gain money for these resources. So is it worth the time and effort?

    I think it would be interesting. May be also some additional event related to this trait about inflation due to gold/silver minting with the option either to cope inflation (with the help of management points) or accept its consequences (tax reduction).

    Hi,

    It was more curiosity about the possibility.

    To determine the fate of my protectorates, that deserves time and effort. But this, this could be very interesting.

    The bonuses don't need to be money and can bring negative affects also, [wine = +happyness], gold and silver could increase by a small amount the taxes and increase upkeep, recruitment and construction costs, [ tea = + chance of spwaning an agent], [Gems = + prestige],....

    Theoretically it would be really extremely hard to achieve in the 18th century. Bribing agents or officials sounds like more plausible option, but I'm unsure how to simulate it in game.

    I really don't know if bribe enemies, at least armies, is a correct approach given the age in what the game is set.
    The 18th century is a time of great patriotic, revolutionary and humanitary ideas that started to give form to the later 'Nation' concept.
    I don't think that bribe was a common case, at least, with army officers.

    Have you been able to transport that mechanic from Shogun2 to Empire!? if so thats simply amazing.
    What about the bombardment of shores from fall of the samurai?

    On the bribing, perhaps only certain units can be bribed? Swedish Caroleans or British Horse Guards would never turn coats, but Finnish Infantry or Scottish Highlanders might be more open to changing allegiance.

    If you can somehow get bribes working, look into the Napoleon group wars, and "liberating" a country. That would be amazing! Since I love Austria and Poland, I almost always end up at war with the Ottomans...

    Yet I dont want to own all of the Balkans. So I have to let Greece rebel then ally with them.

    So that'd definately be a near idea to transport from Napoleon or rescript

    Also, totallly nebulous idea..but in my current game, I have the Hungarian Confederation as my protectorate, even though they rebelled

    Could it be possible to make a Personal Union function, where you can use another faction's armies, even though they are also AI controlled?

    Pretty sure the answer is no, but could be something neat to think about

    Guys, i think it's offtop with bribing. It's VDM thread )) I think the next step for VDM is inflation mechanism like in EU4.

    Inflation for gold, silver and stamping money and reduction inflation by admin points. I think it's possible.
