Game won't work with 1.5 patch

Recently I have bought a new MTW:II Gold since I lost mine. The game is normally installed. Both Kingdoms and vanilla are playable. Then, I install 1.5 patch and suddenly the game does not allow me to play Kingdoms. (I can still play vanilla version though) The computer fails to see the CD-Rom. Any opinions? It is pretty annoying since I bought the original game but can't play it.

Doesn't the gold edition already include the 1.5 patch?

No, gold edition comes with 1.4 patch, so you have to install 1.5. Ok, I'll try the Steam version.

By the way, this is the error message that I got when I try to launch the game. It basically says:

CmdLine....Exe.exe - Corrupted Display

C:/User...........PROPSYS.dll is not designated to work with Windows or it contains error.

I installed each one like 5 times. Can the problem be related with Windows 7? You know, a part of MTW is installed to Users/AppData/Virtual Store/Sega in Win 7. Maybe that's why the patch fails.

Possibly. I think you have to disable the User Account Control, login as administrator and reinstall the game so it installs everything in 1 place with no VirtualStore.
