Default A new religion erupts across the Steppes

Since a prophet proclaimed his message just two months ago his new religion, Blahgarism has grown to an enormous 90,000 followers in Southern Russia and Pakistan. A return to the true pagan ways is how it was spread out, but it seems to include Islamic and Buddist qualities.

Speaking before a crowd of thousands of followers last week the prophet (who as of yet is only know by that name) proclaimed the end to western supremacy and the fall of the monotheistic religions.

Included in his emotional and passionate speech was the promice to reduce the temples and churches of the western religions to ashes, as the Gods command.

Thousands cheered as he prophesised the death of millions in the burning fires of Ahkuum (hell) and the light of Blahza (heaven) for all that followed the true path.

Following the speech 20 people died in a brutal massacre as gunmen cheered and shot their way through crowded streets in nearby towns, bearing reverted crosses and crumpled stars in great banners.

Interesting how the voice of one can influence the thoughts of many

Also how this is a farce, straight from my own head, open to discussion on the possibility of such an event

Such an event is only likely if an oppresive theocratic regime is forcing their beliefs on another group. That group might rally around a military or political leader who they believe will lead them to freedom. That person uses religion for their own personal goals. Sounds like Islam...

    Umm. Unlikely in todays world.

What's the point of this thread?
    To test peoples' reactions?
I mean, you could've at least not admitted that it was false in the title post and let some of the more simple minded believe in it.

Like if the world would need that... But I think it is quite possible to happen.

What was the point of posting this fantasy? Also, it would help if you used comprehensible syntax and semantics when you post a qualification of your entire thread.

People do not seem to see the point, so I shall explain.
In a round table discussion on one of the earlier podcasts I found myself trying to reason with Rush, who seemed convinced that Islam was created by Mohammed as a tool to conquer the world.

I wondered wether it is actualy possible for a man to utilise religion in such a way as to produce a military and social drive for world, or regional domination.

Maybe, but it's certainly been used for those reasons.

    Possible? Yes.
    Likely? No.

Modern religions are still powerful because they are revamped/modified/mutated/evolved versions of ancient beliefs; "new" religions wouldn't "cut it", that or they would simply lack the historical basis to succeed in being credited as truthful, hence why so many evangelical cults spring out each year, they are simply using a common belief (Christianity) to advance their own agendas.

In the end, to each his own, I'm all in favor that people who want to be ruled by a theocratic government should be better left to their own designs; messing in others' affairs usually ends up in bloodshed and mutual hatred (aka Iraq).

Considering that monotheistic religions account for at least three billion people in the world, I suspect that they might be around for a little while yet. It would take a lot of massacring for those to fall.

This guy is messing with three powers you just don't **** with when you only have 90,000 followers.

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. I think it's fairly certain the Muslims aren't going to take this guy with his claims of the end of Monotheism.
