Default After patch, performance got much much worse

Hello, first of all, here's my system:

    CPU: Core i5 4670k @ 4.40GHz
    RAM: Corsair 16GB @ 1600Mhz
Video: ASUS GTX 750 Ti OC
I was running this game on highest settings over 30 FPS before latest DLC and patch, not I launched it first time after the update and DLC, and I get ~20 fps, which drops at 10-15 from time to time, mouse movement has become laggy as well. I thought it was problem of my video card overclock but I did reset it but it didn't solve anything. Can someone help?

Actually, your game never ran on highest settings because
    a) when the GPU only has 2GB of VRAM the game automatically downgrades the graphical settings. there is a short message at the end of the loading screen when that happens.
    b) a GTX750TI would never give u 30fps on highest settings (assuming 1920x1080 res)

Therefore, I assume that with the new patch your graphical settings are downgrades less (maybe they accidentally broke that features) and you are now actually playing with the choosen settings for the first time.

The kind of performance problem u describe sounds like texture swapping because the game ran out of VRAM.

    Try the following:
    - select quality preset
    or
    - at least make sure to deselect 4xMSAA and maybe also lower texture resolution

Hello, thanks for the reply. If I select unlimited video memory, does it still downgrade?

I fixed problem I think, it was not game related, I had transparent windows 8.1 theme/tweak installed, and once I removed it completely, i was back at stable 25-30fps. I have everything on highest with unlimited video memory selected, except screen space reflections (it's on quality) and v-sync.

I guess that 8.1 theme took away more VRAM and that's why texture swapping from VRAM to RAM started earlier.

When selecting 'unlimited video memory' I think it doesn't downgrade. But if u use 4xMSAA and ultra textures, Attila uses > 2.5GB VRAM @ 1920x1080 in siege scenes like in the benchmark. In such a scene I can't imagine that u still get steady 25-30fps.

If u have the time, maybe you can post your settings screen and benchmark results in the benchmark thread in this forum (but look closely at the end of the loading screen whether u see any message about downgrading).

I use 4xMSAA and ultra textures, but my screen resolution is 1440x900, I actually get avg 40 FPS. Also keep in mind I have my poor GTX 750 Ti overclocked pretty hard @ 1247 Mhz GPU Clock and 1475Mhz memory clock, while playing, Core clock is at 1377 Mhz. I will post my settings screen later and i don't get any message about downgrading since I have unlimited video memory selected.

Overclocking doesn't help if the VRAM isn't enough. That's why it works on 1440x900 but wouldn't on 1920x1080. You might still run into VRAM issue in a large siege of a major city. So if u get those stutters in such a situation (typical symptom of texture swapping) then just lower texture resolution a notch.

I will do that, thanks for help!
