    Default Trade agreements, diplomacy issues

Trade agreements are practically impossible to get u can be deep in green relations and still not possible, seems that diplomacy is suffering same issues as RTW2 at the beginning. Apart from non-aggression pact i found that small nations (1 province) cant expect to get anything else no matter their relations.

Another thing are sea trade routes. Why for example ERE which has trade ports in Red Sea cant trade with that desert nation in southern Egypt and why Sassanids can? CA should really look into these issues i think.

People should stop thinking trade agreements as free money. They are ways to control strategically important resources. Having a trade agreement with you means they have to share their resources, allowing you to build certain buildings that increase your power.

Once you get bigger, you often automatically acquire more resources. Now the deal is more profitable for them and they are thus more inclined.

the trade agreements should exclude the resources consideration. as it is a natural progression of good diplomatic relations. strategic resources should have their own trade sub menu in the diplomacy screen. voila, easily added more depth to the trade/diplomacy part of the game.

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

I don't think this is correct. You have to own the resource yourself in order to meet the requirements for the high end buildings. Having a trade partner with the resource does not seem to count.

I can see RGA's point, and I don't get overly annoyed when I get rebuffed on trade when I don't have any resources to offer. It is irritating, however, when I do acquire a couple of resources and neutral/friendly nations still adamantly refuse to trade, even when such agreement would obviously be to mutual benefit or even to their advantage.

As ERE, subjugate dacia(gepids) for its iron node. Cant establish trade route

It's probably because the cai is programmed to first thwart the player instead on considering its own interest first
