We need make use of the Raider ability.

I love (when it works) the new Raider attribute. When I first attempted to utilize it, I assumed it allowed them to burn houses and other buildings down much like infantry and torches (rip); Obviously with no success, I let them idle were they stood to manage the current battle. Moments later when I return, much to my amusement, I find the previously not-crispy city block, immolated, and the Raiders doing as advertised. Not exactly as expected, but as advertised .

Anyway, I'm assuming without actually checking for myself, that adding Raider to any one unit wouldn't be much trouble; However, I'm more interested in what else it can do. For instance, (again, I haven't tried) does this ability still work for horsemen on foot? Now that I think of it, I am not sure if it is exclusive to units on horseback. I just assumed ( ) with the nature of the ability, swiftness was the name of the game and logically, next to riding wardogs into town, horses it is. Anyway, if it still works while they are on foot, and isn't already available to infantry.... Can it be?

Also, can it be activated/disabled for a desired duration of time? I figure that would be important, if Raider were to be given to a wider range of units...Unless you were envisioning a literal scorched earth policy.....

A few norse infantry units have this ability, viking raiders for one. I'm working on creating my first custom unit so I can give something similar to the Saxons, but I did it by cloning the viking raider and making all my changes from there. The raider ability works (at least it shows on the unit) but their swords have disappeared. I did some adjusted victory conditions for barbarians that require a lot more sacking, so I've actually been really frustrated by a lack of incendiarism in my troops what with the Saxons making money for it. Clearly more training is required...
