I added a cheap migration sword for low tier units:

Don't forget, the seax (and its more northernly variant the scramaseax) were the go-to weapons for the Saxons, hence the names. They were a quite common weapon amongst the commoners.![]()
I updated the mod, i added a long seax and reworked the textures added earlier to match the vanilla light and reflexion environnement.

Do you ever plan to include new units, specifically something inspired by Late Saxon/Anglo-Saxon soldiers? Representative of the Saxons finally settling in old Roman Britain as Wessex, Northumbria, Mercia, etc. and adopting some of their armor/ways prior to the Viking wars with the Saxons in the Dark Ages?
"To admit defeat, is to commit a heresy against the Emperor." - Imperial Proverb.
"Well... that was unexpected." - Last words of Chaos Lord Ulakar the Undefeatable.
Actually the DEVs team of the Fall of the Eagles think about making a new campaign in a different, late time frame, it not will be release in near future but when we will start to work on i'll make this type of unit for sure.
The mod has been updated to fix some clipping with chainmails and tunics.
The mod has been updated, there are two new helmets and one sword:

very nice
This mod is a gorgeous re-skin, well deserved rep!!
I couldn't revert to vanilla!
However, would you consider please making the Saxon units taller? Did you adjust their height? Because they look hilariously short when fighting other factions - especially other nordic factions and the new Celtic units, who seem to be absolute giants!
Thanks![]()
The mod has be updated, it fix a missing belt error in the VMD introduced by the latest offical patch.
I won't do that because i want to keep the mod the most compatible as i can with other mod, and i suggest to you to use a mod with deeper overall modification like this, let's say Fall of the Eagles for example (you can use them both but you have to load this mod before the other one).

New update with a new officer, elite helmet:
It was made from the one found at Vendel, a famous archaeological site, in a burial boat. The Vendel culture and era is directly tied to the saxon culture of the same era because The Sutton Hoo archaeological site show numerous similitude in term of armourers producing work. I think that's why CA shared most of the units in the nordic roster with the saxons.
It look like this:

Wow, good work on the Vendel helm! Keep it up![]()
Be carefull when combining models with alpha channels, it take a lot more CPU ressources for users during battles.
I don't use alpha channel on this helmet all are set by the 3d model and in this mod i never use alpha channel to combine things, only to hide part of a model, like on the vanilla ridge helmet.
This mod take more CPU resources because textures have a higher resolution or the 3D models have a higher count of polygons.
I have a high end PC so i don't realise when i push to far and if you want i can reduce the size of the new textures or the amount of polygons to suit more with most of the PC configuration, just let me know.
hi i didnt test your mod myself, i just believed you used this technic, but as you told it, i was wrong, good stuff anyway![]()
Thank you Arthalion.
The mod has been updated, I have resized some textures to optimize the performance and corrected some bugs (clipping issues, non reflective or too much reflective textures etc...) and added the screenshots for every units on the OP.
This conversation was fascinating and the helmet a superb craftman work, hats off!
