Default (Request) Lower fertility penalty per chapter.

I'm getting tired of having useless regions as the game goes on. Can anyone make it so that the climate changes affects us less?

    Tyvm in advance.

Changing the change to 0.5 from 1 per event would be nice, would make it more gradual and still leave the map in a halfway acceptable state.

Really shouldn't affect the entire map... No reason that Egypt should be getting less fertile because the north is getting colder..?

Exactly how I feel. Most provinces become useless by 432 A.D.

Best solution atm would be to increase the base fertility in the regions that shouldn't be getting infertile (Spain, southern Gaul, Italy, Egypt etc) and so at the end of the game the northern regions would have 0 fertility and Italy should have like 3-4 at least. This would of course require a rebalancing of food, but that shouldn't be too hard.

But is there a maximum for fertility? And if not, would the areas that are above the current-best give even MORE food bonus? That'd kind of ruin things if so, IMO.

    you can't actually lower -1
you can change it to 0 so it doesn't actually lower, but that's just too much cheating
what I did is undo half of them so I'll still have some fertility left, but not be stuck at 0

option 2 is raising fertility for every region, but that's going to take a long time

doubles the number of fertility levels and keeps the -1 reduction as per vanilla so reduction is essentially halved with a max reduction of 50%

I tried changing the climate change values in the data.pack. It was the climate change table and I just shifted the numbers down, ended up delaying Attila's birth and the climate change to 420. I noticed because I wasn't seeing the FMV in 400AD. I'll check out Magnar's, thank you.
