Can't believe there're still people saying that. Steam auto-updates can never be disabled. The option is there, but it never, ever work.

That option does work, but you also need to go into offline mode to make sure that when you launch the game it doesn't update at launch.

Yes I do, do you realize I just stated that is how you disable steam auto-updates?

Mods that just add things probably still work. Mods that change or remove things probably don't. It's because if you're adding something you can just put new stuff on top of the existing table, but to remove something you need to overwrite the whole table and then remove the thing you want to change. And when the overwritten table changes drastically you're gonna have a crash.
