Crashes on startup

Hi,

I'm using a fresh install of mtw+kingdoms (standard disc edition), UAC is off, i have installed the mod plus3.2 patch into the default mtw directory.

However when i click on the desktop icon the game crashes on the first loading screen (with the spinning ring), if i double click the .bat file the game opens briefly then crashes, if i try to run the .bat as administrator it says cannot find kingdoms.exe .

I am having the same issue as you actually. (I have the gold disc version though, only difference same problem)

Hopefully someone can help us out.

1) Defragment your HDD ( if you have an SSD, do not defragment it, if you have an SSD+HDD, then just defragment your HDD)

2) Download CCleaner, free program for fixing and cleaning Registry crap ( run its Registry utility, and be sure to make a Registry backup when asked).

3) Go here, and apply first three steps explained for Windows 7, 8 and Vista Users:

-Edit Security for your main M2TW folder

-Unhide hidden folders

-Search the VirtualStore for Sega/Medieval II TW folder, or Medieval II TW folder, and delete it if you find it there.

Restart your PC, and start the game by using the Third Age.batch (BAT) file located in your M2TW/ mods/ Third_Age_3 folder.
