Bad Craziness - Graphics Errors in M2TW

Hello there

. Recently acquired M2TW (+new GPU) however, I get pretty bad graphics glitches in battlemaps, quite frequently...

Here's one with some of the strangeness highlighted...

Has anyone else seen this/ know what may cause it? I have an NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600GS, latest drivers installed, direct X latest version installed, and I have comprehensively cleaned the previous GPUs drivers from the system (an ATI 9550, which ran it without these glitches, but at a massive lag), as well as un-installing/re-intalling M2TW.
Rolling back the NVIDIA drivers may be an option? does anyone who has this card have a link for drivers thay use + have no problems with? Or could it be a problem of not enough power to the GPU? -I have plugged in the 2 power leads, but wondered if maybe the computer's main power supply cant cope)

The system is a P4 2.50 GHz, 512 Mg RAM in Win XP.

have you overclocked your system?

try turning in-game graphic settings all to lowest to see if that has anything to do with it. also disable AA and AF from control panel if you have it turned on. this may narrow down the problem.

Following advice from the .org, turned off combined editing, now it works like a charm, very odd...but panic over, at least!

I have the same problem, and the same video card. Graphics on banners are particularly screwed up with long linear bands going toward the ground. I have tried adjusting all the video settings with no luck.

How do you turn off "combined editing" ????

i have same problem i just upgraded to a 7600 gt and 2gb of kingston and 3.0ghz processer the screenshots look very similar but sometimes worse whats this combined editing becuse this game cost me 200 quid so far and i want it 2 work please some 1 tell me how to turn off combined editing
i should be spitting fire but the game is hot when its not this graphics problems this well above recommended specs?????????????

i found that post jimmym on total war.org all you need to do is turn off combined writing in the graphic card display properties now works sweet and on high game is awesome now

So much for help with how to do something complicated -way to go hard core gamers! Not bothered helping people without total knowledge of XP protocol!

I would like to know that too. I had near identical graphic problems while playing Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion and smaller problems with Medieval II. I panicked quite a bit because I just recently upgraded my PC with some 700 euros.
