The Declaration of Highgarden
"Ed will not be happy about this father." Axell Tyrell sighed as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
"He'll see the war he so desires my boy." Lord Leo stared at his youngest for a moment,
"Trust me, there will be chances aplenty for glory."
"Listen to father Axell." Harlan interjected,
"This is for the best."
"Your to ride for your brothers camp at Cider Hall." Lord Leo continued.
"Give this letter to him and do not open it under any circumstances."
"What is it?" Axell asked, knowing he'd get no answer.
"Nothing for your eyes my boy." Leo rose from his seat,
"Go to your brother, give the letter to him and only him. Nobody save Ed is to read it!" Axell bowed his head in respect, took the sealed letter and rose off to Cider Hall with an honor guard of around forty knights. Meanwhile Lord Leo and his eldest son Harlan continued to speak in private.
"I have sent out the ravens to each camp and everything is in motion."
"Everything will be fine father." Harlan began to reassure his father who was clearly anxious.
"The plan is a good one, we shall not fail."
Axell Tyrell rides out to meet with his brothers at Cider Hall, carrying an important letter from Lord Leo. Meanwhile ravens fly out with a declaration from Highgarden; one of allegiance to the Red Dragon and the Iron Throne.
To the Lords and Ladies of Westeros
I, Leo Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South, do hereby declare for King Daeron II
Daeron is a proven King and under his rule we've had many years of peace. The traitor Daemon seeks to ruin that peace and for the sake of my children and future grand-children i cannot allow this to stand. I had hoped to stand aside and let the Iron Throne deal with this upstart without the need of Reachmen blood, but alas it seems that treason breeds treason and his Grace has dire need of my support. I shall not fail in my duty.
- Leo Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South -
