so three new factions for the germans. Oh and beards. 7.99 is 17% of the entire game price. thought certainly that the first dlc would be the celtics as a freelc. CA strikes again.

More than Viking Forefathers may be, but 7.99?! Really?
I'd get it if it were like 3-max5€
But there is already more than enough threads about it![]()
Honestly this should have been included with the base game or better yet how about a thank you to loyal fans? This game has less playable factions to start than all the other games starting with Empire Total War. This does not sit well with me at all. Not only that but they are all in the same area so what does it add other than the what we have initially already played? This pack to me is not DLC its DNI content Did Not Include <------ . Did I buy? Yes I did only because modding wise new factions seem to be an enigma thus far. Think the DLC will fix that for sure though! Watch.....

Shogun 2 has 8 clans playable without dlc in base game, 6 in Rise of the Samurai and 6 (3 imperial and 3 shogun loyalist) clans. Rome I playable factions: 3 to start and 8 to unlock. Barbarian Invasion has 10 playable factions and 2 historical battles. Medieval II Total War: 5 factions playable and 12 other playable through unlock (out of 22 factions in game). Empire has 11 playable factions.
What ?! Why is so expensive? That's a lot for a few addons. Don't you like freezes, turns taking forever ? What about, we will fix our game for you for as low as 9.99 ?) Limited offer!
When you consider that the main game is about £20, selling a DLC for nearly half that price is daylight robbery and unethical. Disgusting. I certainly won`t buy it.
The irony is I do have the main game which I ordered when I heard torches were being removed. Then the patch and the DLC got pushed back, so, instead of opening and installing the game, I stuck it away, untouched. Where it remains still- Unopened.
So... if CA decide to screw us again after all, this thing will find itself winging its way right back for a refund. I certainly won`t buy the DLC. makes me wonder what they`ll charge for the blood mod as they know people will buy that.
But it wouldn't bring nothing new to the game. All units looks almost the same and a few(new) similar factions won't make miracle either. So what's the point? Attila is not probably selling as they thought it would after Rome II commercial. So let's try to get money different way. Sad thing is that this likely called DLC's are not bringing anything to make this game more fun. Units diversity and battle mechanics, are the absolutely not acceptable. The're just terrible. To get a units, that would look different from each other, we need to wait for modders to do the job. It's really sad.
The factions in Atilla are much fewer than in Rome 2 since those huge empires ( East/West Rome, Sassanids) already covered more than half of the map. And yet CA still slaps us with locked DLC factions that is already in the game. This is so pathetic.
I think these guys are spending too much on unnecessary advertising a.k.a. "Rallypoint".
True. I was thinking about getting Attila because of the positive reviews, but the first dlc 2 weeks after release, and again only faction unlocks with new units? CA are really shameless, I can't believe there are still consume zombies who defend this disgusting business practice.
I will wait and see before I pay 8 bucks for 3 new factions. It is too expansive for me.
The factions are not new, they are in the game. The units and culture traits will be new though. Still, somehow I find it distasteful that existing factions are unlocked and sold as "DLC". This is why Vikings Forefathers is such a pathetic DLC - you're essentially paying for a faction unlock! Who gives a
about 2 new units? People just want to play as the freaking Norsemen and they will pay 7.49 for an unlock... Sad times.
Not gonna pay money for getting factions or units.
They are holding back content for us to buy piece by piece. they are treating us like hungry lions in hope of maximizing their profits. "don't be a jerk and buy dlc" that's what I say.
sell a full product(incl patches and later content) for full prize.
The game maybe cheaper then normal but thats why they now make the DLCs more so they can compensate the price difference.
I wait for next christmas then you get a patched game with more DLCs for less then you would pay now!.

Not paying for faction, unit or blood DLC.
Also agree with others that releasing a premium priced faction DLC within weeks of game's release is about as sleazy as it gets. Also, if it's not essential to the game experience at release, it's certainly not worth ~20% of the game's retail price two weeks later.
