Default (request) Manual Campaign retreat ?

I hate my Vanguard army "RETREATING" into balls deep enemy zone when my second and third army is on the way. Is it possible to appoint their retreat Point?
Also I wanna make skirmish battles. With half stacks hit and run mode. but it seems little too strange?

Hey that would be a neat idea, something like how you could set new units first move after being created by holding Alt and right clicking when having a settlement selected, before Generals became the primary source of unit recruitment. I wonder if scrapes of that mechanic still exist in the game engine, and if it can at all be utilized to replace the seemingly random direction your armies fall back to. ( Retreating forward into enemy territory anyone? Can't quite say I can recall ever hearing of a forward retreat, or at least if one ever did occur, the numbskulls didn't survive to tell anyone about it )
