    Default Need a little help.

    Hi there everyone!

I want to say this is an amazing Mod for the game with out a doubt. I used to play it quite often before I got my laptop. My laptop runs Windows 8.1 (originally 8 but updates and such) so I decided to try to install the mod again and play it.

I originally had issues with the base Medieval 2 total war installing properly (Using the disc version of it) but it seemed those issues had solved themselves on their own. (Just a lot of uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.... I still get the occational thing saying that I need to update my computer to windows XP or higher once in a while but restarting the laptop fixes that problem.

Now to get down to the main issue that I have given some back info. I still had an old install for the Third age mod from back in December when I used it. It was working fine then. Recently I got the urge to play the game again only with the MOS mod instead. So since i already had Third age installed and remembered it worked fine before I just installed the mod and hoped it would work. I got some issues so in the end I decided to just reinstall the Third age mod as even that alone with out the MOS wasn't working.

When I reinstalled it all it does now is do the loading screen for the mod and then when it gets to the part it should give the intro for the game it just closes out. No error, no message just a flat out close down.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this? Any ideas on what might work to fix it all. What I am going to try offically tomorrow when I get more time and back to my house with a better internet connection I am going to just reinstall the entire thing, game and all as well as redownload the mod. But.... in the mean time, does anyone have sugestions in case A. this doesn't fix it, or B. Just sugestions to try in the mean time.

    Thank you all in advance.

Alright, I tried uninstalling everything and then reinstalling it all, including a redownload of the mod and still it is just simply crashing. No errors or anything, just simply crashes on the Thrid Age loading screen before the main menu. Anyone have any advice on what the issue might be?

    1) Where is your Medieval II TW installed? The correct folder path.

    2) Does your M2TW work, and can you start a campaign?

    3) You had installed TATW 3.0 both parts, and TATW 3.2 Patch? Submods for TATW have their own installation instructions, lets get your TATW to work first.

Alright, Medieval 2 TW is installed in the default location, in program files (x86) under the Sega file.

Yes, M2TW is working, as I was reinstalling everything I made sure to test it all out, tried all kingdoms expansions as well as base M2TW to make sure they all worked first before moving onto the mod. Then I downloaded a fresh copy of TATW from ModDB, both the first part and second part, never bothered with the patch this time because I wanted to make sure each thing worked first before moving onto the next step.

The only thing I am not sure if it was supposed to happen or not was when i ran part 1 and it started installing, it said some files were write protected and if I wanted to continue to which I said yes to overwrite them. M2TW does still work.

You should not get a message asking you to overwrite files, that usually happens if you try to install a submod for TATW.. To get your TATW working, use these steps: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...1#post13675060

    Good luck!

You can install MOS 1.6.2 by using my instructions as shown in these pictures ( first, make a backup of whole Third_Age_3 folder somewhere, so you can have it as a backup):
