Does anyone here uses Nvidia GTX 960? If so, how does it handle your Total war Atilla's performance? The thing here is, I'm planning to buy this Vcard but I'm not sure how can it handle the game on Quality - Max Quality. Any advice?
Cant answer you as i've not played Atilla yet, however, when discussing game performance people tend to miss out the single most FPS killing detail......YOUR MONITOR RESOLUTION!!!! , I have no doubt the 760 would be a reasonable card when they patch the game for 1080p, but if your gaming @ 3440x1440, then it would struggle to display the title screen Lol....
What I have here is a 1080p 1920x1026 TV Monitor. So are you saying the game is not made for 1080p monitors that's why it affects too much framerate? Or, my GTX 560ti (oldschool) just cant handle high resolution settings?
Sorry if my questions a bit vague, I only have little knowledge with this kind of stuff.
Ok you have mis-read me, what i meant is the game is currently badly optimised (apparently), thus much like Rome 2, when a few performance patches come out it will run better regardless. Then a GTX 760 should provide a good playable frame-rate for the resolution your are playing at 1920x1026. That does not necessarily mean you will be able to max it out and play smoothly (most likely not), but its a darn site faster than your very poor 560ti!!.
My advice is NOT to buy a GTX760.....the new 3xx series AMD cards should be out in approx a month, which also gives time for CA to patch the game performance, then you will be able to get a much faster card than the 760 for the same price most likely.
In the mean time, play some else or just play at lowest settings.
I have a gtx 960 and most settings are on lowe except texture. Large battles with 20 unis vs 20 units are unplayable on higher settimgs. If you have a litte bit more money i recommend buyimg a gtx 970
What are the rest of your system specs?
Granted your CPU is powerful enough, you should be able to play ATW with the "quality" preset @ 1920x1080 (there are no monitors with a native 1920x1026 resolution) with a GTX 960.
Results I see published on the web are a bit all over the place, but here are the optimistic results:

the benchmark is, it barely shows any heavy scenes in the game. If you want a real benchmark try a 20unit vs 20unit battle, because you encountered a lot of them during the campaign. I get more than 40 fps on qualilty on the default benchmark, but during real battles the game becomes unplayable on those settings
