2015 third age kingdoms
Hi Guys i recently bought the kingdoms version of medievil 2 so i could try the third age mod. Its on steam btw.
Ive tried many times to download the mods but when i open them i get "this file contains invalid data".
Is there a problem because of the age of these downloads.
Id so love to play the third age mod im a big lotro fan.
Ive tried different downloads and on multiple occasions.
Before i give up i thought i try the forums and see if anyone can help.
I also have all the total war games apart from attila.

You could try to search for a torrent. That's faster, and I think I downloaded it via torrent.

Re: 2015 third age kingdoms
The downloads for 3.0 part 1 and part 2 and patch 3.2 on ModDB is valid; http://www.moddb.com/mods/third-age-total-war/downloads
If you got corrupted downloads from it, then the reason is found elsehere than at the source.
General suggestion if someone get issues with corrupted downloads are: do not use Internet Explorer (but FireFox, Google Chrome or whatever) to download; do not at all using the web while downloading (so no surfing, watching vidoes, gaming online etc); and if you have an over-zealus anti-virus it have helped folks to turn it off during the downloading period.
Best of luck

Re: 2015 third age kingdoms

I'm not even sure how you managed to find a torrent for TATW, much less an infected one. I'm guessing it was the torrent software that you downloaded which caused the problems.
In any case there's never really a need to pay for things like spyhunter. More often then not if it's asking you to pay then it's probably a virus itself.
Just for future reference:
For a safe, lightweight, and ad-free torrent program, use Deluge.
For removal of spyware/adware/malware/viruses/etc, use the free version of Malwarebytes software.
Do yourself a favor and use a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox if you aren't already, and be sure to get Adblock-Plus while you're at it.
For finding torrents use Kickass.to, be sure to avoid files with low seeds and always read comments.
Now as for your blackscreen problem. It sounds like you may have installed the mod incorrectly. Try reinstalling and following the (steam) instructions here or using the steam mod installer here.

Re: 2015 third age kingdoms
Hi Munifex,
Many many thanks for the advice and the time spent to reply.
All is good and we've even got the third age mod to work now. Im starting a campaign as high elves and about to visit michel delving to see how things are.
My son has decided to be mordor and has been battling faramir.
Its taken us nearly 5 days to get it working, its been a journey but many thanks to all who've helped and the makers of these awesome mods..
