Where are the Celts?
Where are the Celts?
They are there (Picts, Edbanians and Caledonians) but they got the Nordic units roster.
Should we let that count....
They'll probably be available (with a celtic roster) throught DLC.
there are no celts. they are copy and paste viking factions. If its a DLC it better be free.
Exactly Redguard. Can anyone give us a good reason. So why can't they sell us a complete game? If CA made Zelda, the Water, Fire and Forest Temples would all be the same until you bought extra DLC.Shameful.
You have to unlock them by paying $7.99![]()
I WON THIS BATTLE!
I understand everyone who complains about factions being unlocked via DLC instead of free mod. But since CA adds unique units that work in multiplayer even when other people don`t have the same DLCs, i don`t mind. What i do mind, is the price... That is just robbery.
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer
Perhaps, they honestly just didnt have time to complete the celtic roster so instead they will release it for free later.
I am really surprised nobody has modded any celtic unit's into the game yet? unless it has more or less to do with the culture that was allocated to them.
The fact that the Britannic tribes are not playable on release this go-round is strange to me as well. After all, even R2 at least let you play as the Iceni as part of the base games. In other words: at least let us have the Picts to play as right away. That was one of my first thoughts when I saw what factions would be playable at release. Seriously, why not give us the Picts in the base game and force us to buy DLC for the Caledonians and Ebdanians?
But the roster situation is a head-scratcher. Just, why have a Nordic roster for them? Even if you intend to sell us DLC to play as the Britannic tribes, at least have a base roster that makes sense for them.
Really, Attila is far better than R2 IMO, but there's still a few odd mistakes. And though I know a Britannic DLC will add more units, I'm sort of worried that they won't over-write some of the Nordic units that kind of don't make much sense.
I don't mind that they're not one of the playable factions but to have them be represented with this copy past Nordic nonsense is just insulting.
Still, your right, Attila is far better than Rome II, and an encouraging return toward the immersive cornerstones of the franchise. At the same time I can't help but feel a little heartbroken while playing Attila....To think what Rome II could have been.
Recently I saw a poll about what the next Total War should be. You could vote for Empire II, Medieval III, Victoria, or even Total War China. But really all I want is Rome done right.... Ive said it before and Ill say it again "There wasn’t and remains no better setting for a Total War game. These are no P.C. conflicts in this era. Defeat meant rape, and pillage, and slavery, and death. Victory meant glory, and power, and immortally. Rome leveled Carthage and sold something like 50,000 people into slavery. The era has a textbook asymmetrical balance to it as well. There are mighty empires, small city-states and numerous tribes and kingdoms. Some prefer armored swordsmen, other heavy spears, or horse-archers, another long pikes or fast light infantry and others still would have more balanced rosters. There are natural differences in this violent time that allow for the ultimate setting for a Total War game." Now I know that's not going to be what these greedheads at CA decide so PLEASE give us the tools to mod the campaign map remake Rome ourselves.
But now I ramble and am off topic. Sell us finished products damnit. Give us celts.

Jest wanted to remind everyone that even though they'll release the Celts as a DLC, we still get to fight against the Celtic factions + their new units without paying. That's how all their faction DLCs work.
A paid DLC for Celts will exemplify the most heinous sort of DLC practice - where a genuine part of the game is completely chopped off and sold as DLC. Its like releasing a game with placeholders and asking more money for the actual resources.
No worries, the "Painted Ones" culture pack will be released in a month or so for only £7.99, along with 3 unique unit rosters, and some small quests for the players to partake in!
For now, the British Isles in the Attila main campaign will be BROKEN AND BORING due to the COPYPASTE viking faction rosters.
Sigh. Why not put all the DLC into the game from day 1 and charge a bit more!!!!!!!
One’s back is vulnerable, unless one has a brother.

The Saga of Grettir the Strong, chapter 82
I smell a celtic DLC coming. If that happend, they better have their own rooster and not norse.
