Default Getting started with Dark Elves

Hi, in my dark elves campaign, i'm encountering serious difficulties with high elves attacks: it seems that they're launching all their starting armies against my settlements, and as you know, their starting armies are better and more numerous than druchii ones. Is it the result of a script? Have you experienced other situations where high elves don't fall on you like this?

I usually just go for south/east with DE, abandon my stuff at north mostly.

Also there is a lot of cool things to fight, Empire, Dwarves, Chaos, Kislev, even Sylvania spawns some stacks there usually, all at the proximity of south-east coast, and more once you invade further down. Recruitment is a problem without coastal-cities tought, so those are main-targets early.

I admit, during my DE campaign, I did increase the availability of troops during summer time, and decreased the training time. That's because I always imagined that the DA requisitioned their troops rather than train them

I also abandoned my northern DA camp in the beginning, due to it being victim to continuous giant HE stack attacks, and simply reconquered it later in my playthrough.

But like most probably know, the biggest weakness to the Dark Elves is their economy.
Lorewise, the Dark Elves make most of their money off slave trade, piracy and raiding. But those things either don't exist in TW:M2, or are inadequate to base your economy on. I'd love to see Dark Elves get big bonuses for taking prisoners during battle, and maybe even have the option to turn large portions of the populations of the cities that they conquered into slaves.

I imagine that simply conquering a single large empire city in a surprise attack should flood the entire DE market with slaves for months.

I wholeheartedly agree with SinerAthin, different economy focus for each faction would add a whole new flavour to the mod. On the other hand, the mod is excellent as it is and maybe the guys just focus more on other things (like scripting full stacks of HE armies to attack your settlement ). But it would probably be a great idea for submod (for someone with at least experience, not me, I am afraid).

If starting armies march a long way to reach your settlements it is, sadly, probably a script working in the background. I can't say for sure since I play 1.4.4 though.

I don't think rewarding Druchii for taking prisoners in battle is possible but representing slave trade income from cities could easily be done by some special building only buildable by them and giving only them a regular decrease in population and big income and so on.

But it's not this: HE armies simply spawn just next to your settlement. Obviously, they besiege it during the same turn.
