    Default [Gamebreaking bug] Reforms not working - Rome

    I played until ~turn 50 I think then the Polybian reform hit and I could recruit new (late) versions of my units.

    1) I was still able to recruit the old (early) units. This should not happen according to the guide.

    2) After a few turns later I could not recruit any of the (late) units all. Only (early) units were available.

    Very strange. Is there a fix to this, I don't have a backup save.

    3) skipping turn does not help, I'm stuck with the (early) units.

    I'm playing the latest version, with the original name submod and the http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...Less-Civil-War less civil war submod. Nothing else.

    Please help me.

    Just download the standalone version 1.04a and boot with ModManager 2.0 (not previous versions because i had the same issue with them)

    So Steam-version does not work? I need to remove all the Steam mods and start new campaign?

    Ok I deleted all old mods and use standalone version now.

    Guess I have to start a new campaign again, sadly now that finally I was ready for soem action after mass turn clicking.

    Will test it soon.

    I remember one of the modders said standalone version works better than Steam version. I am using 1.04a with ModManager 2.0 and reforms seems working. Just unsubscribe Steam version

    Ok same bug again.

    I'm using the 2.0 mod manager, the newest DEI and still bugged on turn ~70.

    This time I even made a backup save in case it happens again, but the saves are corrupted too.

    Whats your Imp level? Player reform requirements are not only about turn numbers! You have to be at Imp 3 to reach Polybian reform!

    I'm Imperium 3. Like I described in the OP the Polybian reform script works initially. Then after a few turns I can't recruit the new units anymore.

    @Dresden

    No, I don't . Is there any more info I can provide to help with the issue?

    Are you using shortcuts to get to recruitment?

    ----> Website -- Patreon -- Steam -- Forums -- Youtube -- Facebook <----

    ok. It was a little unclear whether the reform never hit or it hit but the units were not recruitable.

    Might be a stupid question, but did you also research the proper unit upgrade tech?

    Not stupid at all. It is me. I did not research it. T_T

    I skipped the turns and researched it, now it seems to function proper! Only late units are available!

    I might have been stupid but I was confused because I could recruit the upgraded units for few turns after the reform event and then out of the blue - not anymore.

    It is still bugged imo (because I could recruit bot old and late units for a few turns without the research, or is it intended?), but indeed -not- gamebreaking bug like I claimed.

    Thank you very much Hoplitus, I'm so happy it works because the campaign gets interesting at turn 70 or so.

    Sorry for any confusion.

    LOL

    Thats why I asked, many so-called "bugs" are caused by the user not knowing the features/functions properly. Nevertheless not a big deal although you took our time still glad I could help and solve this.

    Also you are right. In my last Roman campaign I could also recruit old units for one more turn after the reform hit. I think that is the scripts which need one turn to function properly and restrict the old units from recruitment.
    But that really isn't a big deal.
    The thing is that the reform upgrade tech was made in a different color and only one turn to research so it should be an eye-catcher. Thats why I didn't think of somebody not researching it (or at least getting to know it) in the first place.

    But anyway now you can enjoy your game once more, have fun.
    Apology welcomed but like I said not a big deal...
