Default Need to free up some space.

    Hiya everybody,

So, I recently decided to clean my hardrive of all the junk I didn't need... which was nearly every program. After spending at least an hour and a half, I only had Guild Wars, the program that operates my printer, AOL (which is too annoying to uninstall), and Windows itself left on my hardrive.

To my surpise, when I checked the properties of my hardrive, I still had 62 of my 144 gigabytes in use.

So, does anyone have a clue as to what the heck is taking up so much space!?

    Thanks.

I don't see why you are complaining so much with more than 50% of the hard drive space still free, but you can always try CCleaner, it cleans out your temporary folders, cookies, and other crap.

Movies and music can take up a lot of space too.

Lowering your computer swap file can save you some space too, but you shouldn't do that unless if you are really desperate.

Also internet files and cleaning your recycle bin also helps.

Thanks for the very quick responses. I installed CCcleaner and I'm running it right now. It's not that I'm worried or complaining about it, it just seems strange that 62 gigbytes are being used, and I don't know by what.

Edit - I ran CCleaner and it succesfully removed 13 gigabytes of cookies and junk. But, I still have about 51 gigbytes that are being used.
