Default Options when ending a battle

Would it be possible to let you choose between different options, when the enemy is fleeing and the victory - screen pops up? For example:
    1. kill as many enemies as your troops can
    2. enslave as many enemies as your troops can
    3. let them go
All of these should have some effects on the campaign.

    What do you think?

You mean to do that during battle screen or on ther after battle result on the campaign?

Changing post victory battle option is impossible and unnecessry as you can either quit the battle or chase your enemies, all enemies killed during rout are made into prisoners. Then again, in the post battle campaign screen you can already pick if you want to let prisoners go, enslave them or kill them.

Sorry, I thought you really kill them during routing. Then this idea is unnecessary, but are the enemies automatically routed when you quit the game? I think it also would be nice to show the process of enslaving grafically in any way, so that they become slaves when I surround them with my troops.

For siege battles I think as a attacker if you withdraw from the battle the siege should not be broken. Sometimes when I attack I find out that I'm not good prepared and I want to withdraw from the battle to try it in the next turn, but without breaking the siege. Historically there were quite a few skirmishes when besieging.
    Is this possible to add?

You can already do that by clicking the "encircle" or "continue siege" option (I forget the exact name of the option) instead of withdrawing. Unless you mean when the battle's already started. That's probably not possible to change.

Almost sure he indeed means once the battle is already started.

Yes, when the battle is already started.
    For example:
You siege a city, but you underestimate the enemy forces (especially the archers) or for whatever reason you rush in to the battle. However the archers burn some of your ladders or towers before attaching to the wall, instead massacring your troops using single ladder or using the damn torches , you retreat, regroup, rebuild your equipment and try the next turn. The battle should be a draw. The siege is not broken. Its not a defeat, as most of your army is still intact. I've been in this situation hundreds of times. A siege is many skirmishes and attempts. This is shown in Attila with siege escalation.
Also if your army has such tradition, you could build balistas as siege equipment while besieging. But that's too far fetched from my part.

This does raise several interesting questions, all related to what happens once the battle is over and you can continue to kill on the battlefield or end it. Since Shogun first came out, I have always opted to spend the time running down on the battlefield as many enemy soldiers as I can. Kill them so you will not have to fight them again, and you may gain a chevron.

But is that all there is to it? If instead of running down the dogs, I end the battle and go back to the strategic screen... are my choices changed by the number of dogs still running?? I normally enslave whoever is left, but if I kill them on the strategic screen instead of on the battle map, do my fighters still get chevrons? Can I save the time spent chasing down the dogs and achieve the same results in chevrons, or even better? At the cost of slaves?

There is potentially an interesting balance here.
