Default Built a barracks, can't recruit new units.

    As the title says.
I've waited for 6 turns for an upgraded type of barrack to be constructed in order to recruit some promised new units. No such luck. The actual unit roster seems to be the same despite the barrack's tooltip saying that it provides new units for recruitment.
Another thing I'd like to find out. What do the greyed out units mean? I couldn't find any answer in some basic guides I discovered.
And I'm not done yet )) I really need some thorough guide on DeI. Questions keep arising (like what do banners on unit icons mean), but I haven't found any tutorial for the newcomers to this amazing mod.

Ok, I'll be waiting for them.
Could you help with other matters? What do the grey names mean? What do the banners mean?
I need a detailed mod guide, help is much appreciated.

Greyed out means a reform unit. There is a sticked thread with FAQ and gudies.

Great. It's getting clearer. But I can't recruit units which are not greyed out. Some of them. Kleruchoi Phalangitai, Pontikoi Thureophoroi and a couple of others Thureophoroi (OMG, it makes me google the meaning of these Greek words ) for example. These units are not greyed out still not available to recruit in the province.

I'll read the FAQ again, thanks anyway.

    This may be your problem:

"- Culture Requirements - In order to recruit a faction's core unit types (example: Legionaries for Rome), that faction's culture must be the dominant culture in that province."

I had the same problem with Egypt - build a barracks in Jerusalem, but because my cultural influence is so poor I couldn't recruit anything until I'd put up a couple of temples and waited for my culture to rise to 50%.

Nope, not the case. I own one full province (4 towns) and my culture has been prevalent since the beginning of the game and it still is at ~60%.

I think I know what's going on. Many of the Pontus unit names were changed for 1.0, and that may not be reflected in the script that greys out the units for recruitment.

In some cases I had/have reform units not greyed out before the reforms and of course then they are not recruitable. So maybe all is ok except the ui information. It sounds not very probable that you could recruit thorakitai units before you even get thureophoroi because thorax reform is the second reform.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the reasons as to why Pontus has Eastern Garrison units? Or if it is moddable? Also thank you Dei team for making this game playable, and also amazing
